I'm updating this review as after some research I discovered that Moen makes a handle extension kit to address issues like mine. I ordered it and will see how well it addresses the install problem. In any case, Moen should include information on this problem and how to address in the instructions included with the cover plate.I installed a Moen 2510 Posi-temp valve in my shower directly to Moen installation specs. The added distance from the finished wall this adds made installing the Moen Brantford trim impossible. The Trim escutcheon screws are not long enough to reach the valve and when I purchased longer screws the handle assembly would not install correctly due to not enough clearance from the escutcheon. To use this successfully I would have had to install the valve to extrude further out into the opening than the valve instructions called for. Very frustrated as I missed the return window and I still have to find a solution to cover the old two-handle faucet handles. The valve and trim install perfectly without this. I'm surprised that no one else seems to have had this problem. It seems like the product install guide should have made some reference to valve installation considerations but it doesn't.

Bought this with moen handle set in same color. Color matches well, but not perfectly. Gets more water spots as you can see in picture. Hole cut behind allows just enough room to cut off pipes and run new pipes to your new valve. Definitely watch some videos if you are a first timer to have all your tools ready before your start unless you want to hear about it. My conversion took me 3 hrs (had to use grinding wheel as wall had metal mesh behind it) and it was functional the same day.

I did see cheaper versions at the big box stores, but went with this. Why? 1) it's Moen. 2) the finish perfectly matches the rest of the Moen hardwarer.Postscript - if you have a three-handle old-fashioned shower, converting to single-handle makes you feel young, optimistic, and ready to face the world.

Shipped quickly. Exactly as described. Nice look in the brushed Stainless model I purchased. Will allow me to retrofit my old style 2-handle shower valves in my one-piece fiberglass shower enclosure, to a single handle style of any model, without doing difficult and expensive fiberglass work to cover the old tap holes. I've purchased a Pfister model valve and single handle that will work perfectly with this cover plate. One thing to remember is to measure the valve mount location carefully to allow for the extra depth of this remodeling plate on final assembly of the valve and handle.

The remodel escutcheon met all my expectations and was very nicely finished to match the Moen shower valve cover. It added 3/4 inches of depth from the face of the shower tile, which is what I needed for a retrofit situation.

Quotes of up to 850.00 to replace shower valve due to necessity of having to go thru the vanity to get to it. Found a plumber who mentioned this product and would replace the valve from the front for 450.00. This acts as a cover plate, and with its' cost, saved me about 350.00. Looks pretty good too. recommend it!

Could not find this in Brushed Nickel anywhere else, glad to get it and have it match all the other hardware in the bathroom!!! Looks great
