It’s plastic, chrome plastic and it will scratch if not careful. The intern fitting appears to be brass at least so it does work as intended.

The spout you’ll get is a different model than pictured and you’ll need to buy an adapter when mounting it to a copper pipe. The finished product looks and works nicely, though.

cheap plastic. Cost twice what I finally ended up with from my local plumbing supply store which was chrome metal. The diverter looked like a good one that sealed well but so did the one I finally bought locally.

When you see that the body of this spout is plastic, you might pass it over for a metal one.Don't!Outside of the fact that this spout cannot rust and that deposits are less like to cling to it, it has one highly deisrable trait: an excellent shower diverter valve that doesn't leak!Pull up on the knob and ALL the water goest to your shower head. Far too many of the metal spouts have lousy diverter seals and leak half the water into the tub, while only half goes to the shower.So, if you want a really good tub spout with an excellent diverter seal, this is the one!
