The lock doesn't work but you can still get the latch to work.

This box is lightweight and features a latch on the front. The box itself came with some cosmetic damage. It’s very chincy made and not sturdy at all. While it does come with a key and lock, the key turns hard and it’s not very user friendly to lock and unlock.For this price point, I expected better overall quality.

This is not a safe. Do not expect this to protect your valuables from theft or fire. It will do neither. But it is a nice little lock box for some purposes. It will keep small children and animals from prying into things you want to keep private but it is also useful in storing things that you want to keep in an organized and nice looking place. I am using it to store duplicate zip drives combined with a faraday cage. I tend to lose things and my zip drives are pretty tiny so I got this to keep them all in one place so I don't lose them any more.This is as good a quality as I have seen for similar ones of the same style in various retail stores. The price is slightly higher than another one that I got a couple of years ago but that might just be inflation.Overall I am happy with this lock box and recommend it with the above caveats.
