Seems very nice so far. The instructions are a little leaking as to how to use in various ways especially blue tooth.

Rugged design, waterproof, and best radio reception for portable unit. CD player sounds great and in stereo too. Battery lasts 7-8 hours or better with radio, less with Cd. Monodeal is a good brand with dedicated followers and of superior quality.

No cumple las expectativas. La calidad del sonido no es como dice la publicidad ya que no se alcanza un volumen suficiente ni tiene reforzamiento de bajos. La correa es muy estorbosa y la antena FM viene por fuera del cuerpo del dispositivo.

This is my 3rd Monodeal portable cd player. My last still is going strong - but this unit, the MD708, had SO many features that I had identified as crucial to my next purchase, that I could not resist ordering the newest one when it became available. My biggest concern? as with any such portable unit, the speakers. The last one (and other, roughly comparable makes) had stereo speakers, but at volume they did not "sing" to me: I invariably ran the signal through my Marshall speaker (or, if extreme portability was needed, my Bose Mini SoundLink). But the speakers in THIS Monodeal? They fill the room with accurate linear sound!Oh my goodness!! This is great! And the versatility. CD, sure. But also Bluetooth (at last! I can run the signal from my Pandora or KDFC aps through my portable unit - and it sounds good!) FM tuner. A USB-A port for MP3. A simple USB-C for power. And - do not let me forget! - a 3.5 jack for my studio headphones! (Having no 3.5 jack is a deal-breaker for me - but those 3.5s are getting harder to find...)And, all the bells-and-whistles one might expect from such a unit.Clock. Alarm. Sleep timer.Oh, one more thing - a possible shortcoming of older units that I had not considered: this case is IPX4!! This CAN be important: picnics (just to mention one thing) are sloppy affairs, at least in MY family...Will this unit last through the mayhem such things experience in families, at the hands of children? My prior Monodeals survived being: dropped by a 5 yr old; knocked off the desk by my annoying cat; and dragged all around the kitchen by an over-eager Springer! and THIS unit looks seriously more strongly built than the previous models, to my eye.So. If you have made it with me this far, you just know you must check this player out!My only remaining question? what now to do with my old Monodeal...

When I unwrapped the box containing my new Monodeal MD708 portable CD player/FM radio, I was immediately impressed with the sturdy construction and the stout carrying handle, so was ready to give it a thorough test. The first thing I was curious about was the ease of controls. Some devices I have used have disappointed me with confusing labels, inconvenient buttons, awkward scrolling procedures and the like. This one has large buttons with crisp black lettering, clearly visible on the top of the unit and a delightful large volume knob right on the front where you’d hope to find such a control in these days when volume up or down is commonly achieved largely by a series of presses against a small button which may or may not give you the result you want. So, I popped in a CD and was pleased to hear the familiar music pouring out of the twin speakers with enough volume to fill the room and enough clarity to understand the singers. This was satisfying. Better than walking around with earbuds jammed in my ears. The normal CD controls, common to many players are all there, plainly marked and conveniently located. The next thing was to see how easily the Bluetooth paired with other devices. MusiBaby speaker. Immediate. MP-3 player. Smooth. I was able to raise and lower volume either on the MD708 or either of the other devices. The range was good, so I could walk around the house with the MP-3 player in my pocket and the CD player/FM radio in another room and they still communicated with one another. The FM radio was next. The sound quality, once again, was good. Setting the first two presets for my favorite stations was simple. Other stations’ presets were more complicated and took several tries to sort out the correct procedures. About that radio: it gets great reception! Sitting right next to a traditional radio/CD player, it picks up more stations and with greater clarity than the other, larger unit.I liked: the light weight and compact, uncluttered design; the large easily accessed controls; the water resistance and rugged construction; and the ease of switching between CD, radio or other device; and the straightforward pairing. I also liked the ability to plug into a 120 volt outlet to keep the batteries charged, so it makes a great bedside radio with large illuminated clock (with alarm). A nice feature about the alarm is that you can control how loud it will sound when it is activated. For those of us who prefer a gentle awakening to a sonic blast, that's great.I was not thrilled with the 33 ¾” (86 cm) thin antenna wire, despite its working even when not fully extended. If the clever designers had included some way to store the wire or wrap it safely and securely in a compartment inside or outside the unit, it would be a small improvement on a beautiful product. (It does work for local stations with strong signal strength even while coiled up close to the radio.)Having said that, I’m giving it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone looking for a portable player that can go with you to the beach or on your boat, to a picnic or to a party, or just keep you entertained around the house.
