About this item

  • Big Fat Beefy Tone: The dual coil humbucking pickup delivers a very dynamic and fat sound, while reducing or "bucking" unwanted noise and hum.
  • Easy To Play: Indio Cali Classic Guitars are perfect for beginners or for players that need a reliable practice or backup axe. They feature easy to play, "fast" satin necks and quiet, full sounding pickups.
  • Make It Your Own: Make no bones about it, this guitar is gig ready right out of the box! But if you are the type of player that is into customizing your instrument, it is super easy to upgrade the electronics or other hardware to make this Indio guitar your own. It is a great way to experiment with tone and aftermarket parts, without the risk of damaging or destroying your primary instrument.
  • Humbucking pickups feature a reverse polarity dual‑coil design, which naturally removes those unwanted noises and allows thick and robust overtones to truly ring out!
  • The California Classic hot‑rodded and stage ready for performance!

The Monoprice Indio California Classic Electric Guitar has proved itself to be a stage ready performer at a price that is borderline ridiculous. And now in true California fashion, we added some extra muscle to the series. The Indio Cali Classic HSS Electric Guitar builds on the foundation of the original Cali Classic, with a hot rodded humbucking pickup in the bridge position for that essential rock 'n' roll punch. Take your tone back to the glory days of rock without stressing over 60 cycle hum. Often times, when cranking your amp to 11 with single coil pickups, typically found on this style of guitar, the sound can get a bit noisy. Of course, this is true of our Cali Classic models as well as big brand name guitars costing thousands of dollars. After all, single coil pickups can deliver very desirable vintage tones. However, humbucking pickups feature a reverse polarity dual coil design, which naturally removes those unwanted noises and allows thick and robust overtones to truly ring out!

The action was so low that 3 strings had lousy fret buzz I could not adjust.

I'm 79 and have been a guitar player since I was 16. Probably owned more than 100 guitars during that time, both acoustic an electric. This guitar is AMAZING for $120. Tuners are good, setup was spot on right out of the box. Finish was flawless. Pickups really have great tone and projection. No sharp edges on the frets and neck straight as an arrow. Hit the neck lightly with some 400 grit sandpaper to smooth some raised grain a bit and then applied some cabinet wax so now its super fast. Strings are ok but will probably replace with Fender XL 9-42s.. Only gripe is the tone pots, which are very low range and are clearly the weak spot on this guitar. Since I'm comfortable tearing into a guitar's guts I'll probably replace them with some Strat pots when I get the time. In the meantime I'll adjust my amp and pedal settings to get the desired effect. BUY THIS GUITAR, you're unlikely to find a better value anywhere.. Although I already have 2 Telecasters I'm going to get the Telecaster model next, just to see how it compares with my $900 Fender version.

Arrived in a nice gig bag. Hardware of lesser quality than IYV.Great jade finish with triple ply pickguard.Great neck with minimal finish. Frets were level with minimal sprout. Fret appears to be maple. Some type of plastic nut.9 1/4" radius. All in all a great value.A few hardware upgrades and you have a winner!!!

this has to be one of the best strat copy style guitars out their out of the box period. bar none..I added Ernie ball 2222 hybrid slinky 9-46 strings and wow. 3 ply pick guard .. intonated correctly out of the box. fret ends are fine , neck is f;at no bow .. pickups position top to bottom top closest to the strings 472 ohm. 241 ohm 485 ohm 313 ohm .. 858 ohm bottom position .. for a beginner A++. another nice indio is the offset 20 or OS20 amazing also plus a really nice padded gig bag worth $30. the Teal color is awesome, maple neck, string trees, if you wanted to upgrade to double humbuckkers pick guard would be an option also for cheap alnico v ...

I like to buy inexpensive Strat copy guitars and fix them up as project guitars and surprisingly, this is a great guitar for under $100! I bought it for the color first, as a Strat body second, and as a project guitar thirdly. and after installing a new bone nut and setting the action low (this took some set up work to do), it plays really well and I've already recorded with it. The frets were smooth and well dressed without any sharp edges, the pickups sound great and overall it was finished flawlessly - love the color!

Nice slim neck with a good full sound. But the freet edges are very rough and need smoothing out.

Looks great, plays well. Could use a bit of setting up but was totally playable out of the box, just a quick tune. Finish is good but not perfect, dust in paint on back of guitar in one or two places and could use a little more buffing, but it's a beautiful color. The bridge pickup (humbucker) sounds fantastic, the middle and neck pickups are fine but I don't notice much difference between the two of them. Spring tension on the trem came so that it's decked. I'm sure you could adjust it so it floats but with the plastic nut, decked and seldom used is probably best. Overall for around 100 USD, seems really good. Neck feels good and was set to body well and is straight with just a hint of relief.

Good cheap guitar. Comfortable action, no rough fret ends to snag on. Plays nicely with no buzz.Tuners are not great but work. Will probably upgrade eventually.Finish is plain but has no visible flaws.I just wanted something cheap as an alternative to my acoustics. Fits the bill perfectly.Good beginner guitar.
