Ribbon Tweeter: A ribbon tweeter requires about 90% less excursion than a typical 1" dome tweeter, making it capable of very high acceleration, which means that it is very responsive to musical nuances with less distortion. Ribbon tweeters have a wide horizontal dispersion and a very tight vertical dispersion, thereby increasing the size of the audio "sweet spot".
Carbon Fiber Drivers: Carbon fiber is a very light weight and rigid material, making it ideal for speaker drivers. The light weight ensures that the driver can respond quickly to musical nuances, while the additional rigidity results in improved accuracy and a flatter frequency response. The result is deep, impactful bass, and tight, articulate mids, without a hint of distortion.
High Frequency Attenuator: The high-frequency attenuator can reduce high frequencies by 0, -3, or -6 dB. This allows you to fine tune the speaker's high-end response to compensate for a particularly "bright" listening environment.
Magnetic Grille: The removable grille attaches to the speaker using powerful magnets to ensure that the powerful bass does not cause rattle. The grille is paintable and features a slim bezel, allowing it to more easily blend into your home's decor.

Used them as surrounds for my 5.1 AVR system driven by my Denon S640-h. Even though they are classified as ceiling speakers, I mounted in a standard 2x4 stud wall. One fitted perfectly but the other had a misplaced stud that need trimming. See pic. 👍Sound quality is acceptable and they are very sensitive, so I had to balance them with a test video in the AVR. Haven’t tried them as fronts to fully appreciate sound quality but I wouldn’t foresee any issues. Build quality is top notch and they are quite heavy.Recommended.

I recently installed these in-ceiling speakers, and I couldn't be happier with their performance, especially considering the price. Installed these as height speakers for my Martin Logan. I purchased them as they appeared to be a close match for my other Martin Logan speakers (Motion 15s & Motion 8) and my electrostatics (Classic ESL 9) the Motions have a folded ribbon tweeter as does the Amber.

I bought 8 of these 6.5" in ceiling with the ribbon tweater for my surround sound in my high end basement theater system. I installed them in a drop ceiling. There is a pathetic sound from these things for bass even at low levels. Its like a flutter from the woofers. Even with the bass at -12 its still anoying and embarrassing. I even returned a 800.00 onkyo receiver because I thought the bass adjustment was malfunctioning. So then I called monoprice customer service technical support. What a joke. They tell me that these speakers were not meant for home theater sound and could not explain what to do to fix the isuue. My plan was to use the in ceiling speakers for the highs and a little midrange and a high end floor mounted subwoofer for the bass. Thats why I would just turn the bass all the way down and have the sub do the bass. Not going to happen with these. They must some how use that board on the back of these speakers to ramp up the bass even at a negative bass level.But anyway absolutely no resolve from mono price. Basically TO BAD SO SAD 🤷♂️

Great quality and perfect for my atmos application. Sound better without the metal housing that is sold separately. High frequencies are slightly localised due to the ribbon tweeter, but are crisp and clear.Installation is made easier through simple deaign elements.Come alive with a power amplifier if you’re using then for home theatre.

I’m using these for in-ceiling atmos speakers. For this price I challenge you to find another speaker with ribbon style tweeter.My front sound stage consists of Martinlogan ESL’s and the ESL-C center which has a ribbon tweeter. I wanted my surround speakers to match their sound signature and these are perfect. If I was using them as my mains, I think the Amber series would sound a little bright but as surrounds, and especially overheads, they are perfect.
