About this item

  • True 2.1 System: The subwoofer employs a 2-way, 12db crossover at 200Hz, so it uses all frequencies below 200Hz and sends all frequencies above 200Hz to the satellite speakers.
  • Heard Not Seen: With the body of the subwoofer and the speaker wires buried in the ground, the system fills your yard or patio with great sound, while maintaining a low profile that doesn't look out of place in your yard.
  • Easy Install: Rather than needing to run separate wires from the amplifier to each speaker, only a single, 4-conductor wire needs to run from the amp to the subwoofer, then a shorter pair of 2-conductor wires run from the sub to the satellites.
  • Modular: The system is designed to be extended by using additional subwoofers and/or satellite speakers. Need more bass? Add another subwoofer. Need more coverage for a large room? Add another pair of satellite speakers. It doesn't get any more simple than that.
  • Great Sound in the Ground: Enjoy rich and full sound in your yard or patio. The buried subwoofer and low profile satellites keep the focus on the sound, not the sights.

With all of the outdoor speakers available what makes our Sycamore 2.1 system stand out? Simply put, it is their great sound and ease of installation. The weather Sycamore 2.1 system features an 8" passive subwoofer and a pair of 2.5" satellite speakers. Unlike other passive systems, where wires need to be run from the amplifier to each individual speaker, installation is simplified by running only a single speaker wire to the subwoofer, then shorter wires from the subwoofer to the individual satellite speakers. The subwoofer has a 12dB crossover that splits the audio signal so it uses only frequencies below 200Hz and sends all frequencies above 200Hz to the satellites. The system is designed to be powered by amplifiers with 50 to 200 watts of power, making it well-suited for most home theater audio systems. Need more bass? Add another subwoofer. Need more coverage for a large room? Add another pair of satellite speakers. It doesn't get any more simple than that.

Ordered to enable music listening for our Christmas lights. Speakers are driven by a 2.1 amp and sound is good for speaker size. Of course it is not audiophile quality but for price and outdoor capabilities, the value is excellent.

Already had the subwoofer. Since we installed a pool wanted to expand our sound system. So, I ordered more of the satellite speakers. They are not in the “heavyweight” class of speakers, but for our purpose the meet the end use intended. Our friends and neighbors had no problem “getting their groove on” when we had our party. One area for improvement? A sturdier ground stake and the post that it attaches to the speaker.

Had to buy this or return a bigger package that includes these. They had missed bolts and screws. These help determine the Size of them. They mixed metric and imperial hardware. As far as support I wanted the whole system I got discount, they offered no parts or replacement just a refund. Refund once you buy a AMP receiver cable wires for outdoors are more expensive than the speakers. Had to thin the wire ,to 18ga for it to fit this hardware. Sounds is good have 4 plus the sub. These speaker satellites have no bass at all also it is moderate loud to kind-of Loud when they shine (75 to 85 db)

I've had these for three years. I bought the 2.1 system directly from Monoprice. One speaker stopped working after one year so I had to order another one. Then the other one went so I got out my 15 year old outdoor rock speaker and the sound from the rock speaker is 20x as good. The speakers sound wavy when you walk by them. (Then the subwoofer stopped working in the middle of last summer. Just dug it up (which was super fun) took off the top and it's filled to the brim with water.) Great waste of $200 on terrible sound and a sub that doesn't work and which was mediocre in the first place.

I purchased 4 of these speakers and installed in an alternating stereo Left Right configuration (left, right, left, right) so no matter where one is sitting/standing, there is a stereo experience. The patio is “L” shaped and approx. 25 ft wide and 20ft long. These speakers are relatively easy to install, but make sure you follow instructions as there is an order to pieces being assembled (ground spike and how to route wires through). The speaker wire connection is very tiny, and barely accommodated the 16/4 direct burial speaker wire i used. If I were to redo, I would use low voltage wire instead - it works all the same and much less hassle. Speaker performance is better than you would expect for a $50CAD speaker, but is notably short on bass. This would surely be rectified by purchasing the in-ground subwoofer, which may be a future upgrade. That being said, in my situation, the speakers aren’t intended to rattle bones, but instead provide atmosphere and background noise for myself and guests alike, which they do comfortably. Speakers appear to have weathered the…weather… quite well with several thunderstorms, torrential rain and some hail - and they still work. Will have to see how they handle winter, and the typical thaw and re-freeze period. So far though, would recommend!
