I was looking for a PSU to put in my PC build and I stumbled across this gem. Didn’t hesitate to buy it and it arrived promptly. Box design is passable, and the presentation isn’t the best (although they do include a pouch for all your cables), but the power supply was what I came for. While I don’t have the equipment to test efficiency, it is Cybernetics platinum rated, which is a good sign. Cables are standard black, flat cables that get the job done. It had a plethora of ports, including two 12v high power connectors. Not only that, but it has a zero fan mode and operates quietly regardless. At 89.90 this PSU is a must buy for its excellent features and outstanding value.

This “MONTECH Century II - 850W High-End ATX Gaming Power Supply - 80 Plus Gold & Cybenetics Platinum - Fully Modular - ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 Ready with 12V-2x6 Cable - 10 Years Warranty” checked all the boxes for me! I am building a gaming PC with a mATX motherboard in the smallest mATX case I can find. I should have used a SFX (small form-factor) PSU but most of them (in this wattage that I needed) are more expensive than I am willing to pay. Then I found THIS one, even though it is NOT SFX (this is actually a full sized ATX PSU), due to the fact that it is fully modular (I only need to install the cables I needed to use), and also it has 12V-2x6 to support my GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, I am still able to fit this into the case nicely. For a 850W, 80 plus gold & cybernetics platinum, with 10 years warranty unit, the price ($90) is great. Even at full blown operation, it is still running cool and quiet. It is very well built, the enclosure is nice and pretty, and all the cables seem to be of good quality.Thank you for reading this review, I hope that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

Bought this after reading the review for it on Tom's Hardware. So far working very well.In spite of being a 1200W PSU, it is significantly smaller (140mm length) than my previous EVGA 750 G2 (180mm length), which barely fit in my case.Construction quality looks excellent; the aesthetics is very pleasing and the casing is thick and sturdy.Note that even though it is rated at 80+ Gold, it's actual performance far exceeds that standard (closer to Platinum). Check Tom's for details.

Bought: April 11th, 2021 for $79.99Shipping: I received this power supply a day late and it came in a bag not a box. It seems that Amazon has run out of boxes. This is not the way electronics should be shipped. I really hope nothing has been damaged in the process.Power Supply Unit: Flat cables are nice, but this PSU should of been modular. I have 2-3 cables unused just hanging on the side. If it was modular I could of just left those cables in the box. But this is older computer, so not a deal breaker for me. However, for a new(er) I highly suggest you only get modular power supply to organize your cables better. The protection features on this PSU is impressive, but because I haven't used it much yet... I don't know how good this protection really is. Real test will be when power goes out, or there is a power spike or even a thunderstorm. I do have UPS (Uninteraptable Power Supply) to pretect my computer and I highly recommend you use UPS unit too if you care about your computer.Specs: I use this PSU with two Nvidia cards that run three to four screens at any given time. Before this PSU I had CoolerMaster 650W which has surved me for about 8 years before burning. But if you have a new computer with newer better hardware and video cards I recommend going for 800W to 1000W. To make sure it can handle all your hardware. Especially if you use more than two monitors.I will try to update this review in 3 months and then 6 months to a year. So far so good, I recommend it :)Update #1: November 17th, 2021 - It's only been about 7 months, but so far so good. Durring power outage no hardware was damanged, hardware protection worked. "Full Japanese Capacitors" is no joke! Love it so far, and highly recommended.

So, power supplies are getting expensive maybe because of the 3080 and 3090 needing more power. I’m looking at getting one if they ever come in stock. This is 850watt gold. I had a 650 gold for my 2080. It was just fine. I’ll need this for a 3080 and over clocking. Don’t let something as simple as a power supply Jack your system up. I’ve used many brands like EVGA and some cheapo’s. Never had a problem. This is compact and has Japanese capacitors. It’s fully modular. The price is fantastic. Shipping was fast. It’s Gold. What more can you ask for to be prepared for better components. Be ready, when the new graphics cards are finally in stock.Update,Something I ran into that might help others. I tried swapping this power supply from my sons to mine. I took a short cut and tried to use the cables that were already neatly ran through my case. I had a hard time getting my PC to boot. After pulling it and putting it back in my sons it worked. I ended up having to use the cables that came with the power supply. Everything is fine. I should have known when the existing cables were a little tight plugging into this power supply. So save yourself some time and use the cables that came with it. Hope that helps some of you guys that may think you got a bad unit. Cheers!
