I am relatively new to guitar and while I am not on tour in major arenas (yet), I have reached a point where I like to stand while I play and occasionally walk around the room that I practice in. I thought I would give this kit a try and see if wireless is worth the gossip. I have lav mics and other small transmitters that don’t have any visible antenna, so I was a little worried when I saw the tiny whips on these and wondered if the quality was going to be unsatisfactory. More than that, I feel like it’s more prone to disruption if you happen to swipe it or hit it since it sticks out a bit. For the moment, it is nothing more than peculiar. I do like that these are rechargeable and I don’t have to keep any batteries on hand. Hopefully this is becoming the new standard. The disadvantage is if you’re playing live and this dies, you can’t just swap out a battery and be back in business. You would have to wait through a charge cycle. The instructions were adequate. The transmitter plugged into my Strat style guitar like any instrument cable would. The receiver did the same just as easily into my little 40-watt practice amp. You can pick from a few different channels so if you have some crosstalk from other electronics, you can separate yourself a little further from it within the spectrum. I can’t speak to how long the battery lasts. I can only say they last longer than my fingers. I am never more than about 15 feet away from the receiver so I also can’t speak to the range of this pair. I did go down a hallway but I was never near the limits they quote. If you’re on a high school or small college stage I don’t think you’ll have any problems. The signal was clean, clear and consistent. I didn’t get any dropped signal or lag or delay. The quality was no worse than any of the cables I use. If you are a true audiophile, you’ll probably want to upgrade, but I am a terrible guitarist with tinnitus so it was all good to me. I tried to stress the devices a bit, especially the antennas, while they were plugged in but it didn’t result in any static or failures. I don’t have other styles of guitars to test it with so I can’t speak to the experience you might have with a different body type. The guitar, not you personally. My body type is kind of pear shape and I think they would work no matter what kind of shape you’re in. When done, they stow away easily and take up very little room, much less than a 100-foot cable would to get you the same distance. As with all electronics, it’s a competitive space so compare the specs to other options and make sure you’re not paying more than you have to.

MOOER GWU4 appears to stand for "Guitar Wireless UHF 4-channel"These are in the UHF 917-923.5 MHz bands and not overly crowded WiFi/Bluetooth 2.4Ghz bands.UHF was for TV, but FCC opened some for use with wireless microphones when TV went digital.Problems with the 2.4Ghz band is crowding by ever WiFi and Bluetooth device, additionally Microwave ovens can leak and cause 2.4Ghz interference. I know people who loose WiFi access when their microwave is running. This kind of interference will not happen with these MOOER GWU4.Furthermore, the 917-923.5 MHz are lower in frequency than 2.4Ghz. The 917-923.5 MHz are lower, and thus why you see a little antenna sticking out of these. Lower frequencies have longer wavelengths and therefore use a longer antenna than WiFi. This offers some advantages, such as longer distances between the transmitter and receiver. It also allows some radio waves to travel around objects. This can mean less cut-outs when you move around on stage.Additionally, I found these have been fully FCC tested and approved. The FCC confirms these work as advertised. There will not be any issues with FCC usage of MOOER GWU4 Wireless System. With this particular pair, there are four channels available:917.0 MHz918.0 MHz920.0 MHz923.5 MHzYou select the channel on the transmitter and receiver by pushing the power button. They will light a different color LED for each channel. Be sure the transmitter and receiver have the same color LEDs and you'll hear the sound go through. There is a limitation. You can only have 4 people on stage with these as you run out of channels. There is no automatic channel switching, so just be sure to cooperate with other players. I can only hope FCC opens more UHF frequency bands in the future.Additionally, there is a handy feature where you can have a single transmitter that send to multiple amps if you buy additional receivers. Just make sure they're all the same color LED showing. For example, you might have two combo amps and want to transmit to both, buy another receiver, plug in receivers into both combos, and set the same channel. Very handy. Carry an extra combo and if the gig requires more volume you can be louder by sending to both. There's no hard limit on how many receivers you can use.It can also transmit in parallel to your combo and the PA or recording console by adding a receiver on the console. This is a big opportunity to get radically clean recordings during live shows. I don't know of any other wireless guitar pair that can do this. Here too – four people can send their selected transmitter frequency to a multiple of the receivers. No mass of guitar cables going every which way to connect multiple amps and consoles. These do have digital processing with undetectable latency of less than 0.3ms. This digital processing cuts out any RF noise you would otherwise hear. Just a good clean signal, "No static at all".Charging time is fast with a good charger. They include a dual head USB cable, which seems handy. To keep the batteries fresh, remember to charge them at least every 3 months if you put these away for a while. This will keep the batteries maintained for a long life.Get another case to store these in, don't use the box. The antenna should be kept fairly straight, so it doesn't suffer from metal fatigue from being bent and crammed into a small box.I can hardly believe MOOER can manufacture and sell GWU4 Wireless System at such an affordable price. Even if you have another brand wireless guitar pair, you owe it to yourself to also have a set of these if the need arises.
