The Pinnacle of Moog's Semi-Modular Family of Analog Synthesizers
Moog Matriarch is a patchable 4-note paraphonic analog synthesizer with a built-in Sequencer, Arpeggiator, stereo Ladder Filters, and stereo Analog Delay. Create rich evolving chord patterns immediately with “no patching required”, then tap into an abundance of inspiring textures, new sounds, and an endless supply of happy accidents through Matriarch’s 90 modular patch points. Sequence and perform in mono, duo, and 4-note paraphonic modes. Based on the vintage circuitry of classic Moog synthesizer modules, Matriarch is a catalyst for creative ideas and a medium for multidimensional expression.

I purchased the MOOG Matriarch for so many reasons. However, I was going to wait until later in spring until I found out that the Dark edition will not be produced any longer and supplies would be limited.I have had mine for about one week now. The Matriarch is a serious, incredible and big sounding synth. I have been able to produce many different sounds: ambient Polyrhythms, big deep base sounds, generative music and cords with multitimbral sound throughout the i gives of the keyboard. I was out of my mind excited after one day and night with this synth. No one can tell you what instrument to buy; and, don’t listen if they do. Try to find one to play. Listen to as many YouTube videos of a variety of synths; because, analog (which the Moog Matriarch is) and digital synths are both great but have different options and possibilities. I could be a synth snob and say go analog but I have used both and in my opinion they both have a place in music and sound design. What ever you buy, if you do buy, invest the time to get to know that instrument inside and out, experiment and most importantly have fun with your sound!

Matriarch is an absolute must have for any experimental music artist! When linked with digital and analog synthesizers, or with an AI installed to play, this is simply beautiful!

It is sooooooo Moog-licious.Sounds wonderful, build quality is stellar, looks handsome.Aftertouch sensativity sucks. You're going to want reverb.

I must say i cannot stop playing the Matriarch. It to me has the most beautiful sounds ever out of any synth iv'e played once you get your head around it, which is not very difficult. It is not your typical minimoog type synth by any means. Through some reverb (using a Source Audio Ventris) on top of the on board delay and ambient textures for days (Which is what I'm all about).

For many years I've always wanted a Moog and never had the means until this year. When I saw the specs and demos of the Matriarch, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for and took the plunge. For years I've only had experience with VSTs and software plugins for sound design and never experienced a hardware synthesizer. When it arrived I was immediately overwhelmed after plugging it in and messing with the sequencer, filter sweeping and adding the wonderful analog delay. This was a big investment to me and welled up at how beautiful it sounded. It can be as dirty and overdriven or as delicate and atmospheric as your heart desires. There's a lot to experiment with here, and it's easy to get lost and patch for hours. It syncs up great over USB for MIDI control for my setup and has definitely impacted how I write and perform for the better. The thing is built like a tank and will more than likely outlive me.I cannot recommend this synth enough. This is the real deal.

The choices Moog made in designing this relatively affordable unit were on the money. The combination of ready-to-use controls, plus 90 patch points, 4 classic oscillators plus LFO and Mod, allow you to recreate virtually all of the classic Moog sounds going back to the late 1960's through to today. Add in a sophisticated arpeggiator, sequencer, full Midi (including USB), and a wealth of global parameters that can be manipulated to change the way the synth operates, you have the best of all worlds. A genuine, unadulterated analog signal, with digital tech under the hood to help you manage it and control it and use the outstanding keyboard as a midi keyboard as well. Paired with an app like Logic Pro, there are limitless things a single artist can do in their own living room. I am glad I waited to buy a synth until now (had several Korgs and a DX7 as a kid - just a Yamaha Clavinoval last decade or so). This is a relatively new model and I cannot imagine anything more authentic and usable and this is coming from a relative amateur-hobbyist who is a lawyer for a living!
