Some tips before installation:
1) In order to ensure the consistency of the shock absorber, it is best to choose the shock absorber to be replaced in pairs.
2) The bearing on the top of the shock absorber should be lubricated (grease), and the waterproof dust cover must be put in place to ensure that it is not damaged.
3) It is particularly difficult to remove the end nut of the telescopic tappet of the shock absorber (the spring must be fastened with an iron wire), and it is easier to install.
4) When installing the ball head (suspender) of the balance bar, press down with an iron rod to install it smoothly.

2003 Tacoma base 2wd these shocks went on easy no issues and are a bit stiffer than the original or perhaps the original was just dead at 145k miles . Shocks seem to hold heavier loads better now.. These shocks are hard to find for this base model 2wd Tacoma as most are 4wd or prerunner shocks. I’m glad these were available and my truck handles way better now.

bought these struts to install with my 3" front 2" rear lift on my toyota tacoma. without the strut spacer, a side by side showed that these struts were about 1 inch longer than my stock struts without compression. after installing the 1.5" spacer for the intended 3" lift, the front sits lower than stock struts when vehicle is on the ground (stock struts never had spacers installed). without the 3" front lift spacers, it would have been a problem. wont give this any less than a 4 since the struts work as intended, just disappointed that they sit much lower than stock struts with compression.
