The MAF sensor went out in my buddies 99 Buick LeSabre. A new one from the local parts stores ranged from $78 to $98. He was strapped for cash and we decided to give this one a shot. We’re both so glad that we did. The car is now running perfectly and no longer randomly stalling at red lights and stop signs.

Perfect replacement for the failed OEM Sensor our 2001 Buick Lesabre Custom with 3.8L V6. Easy to install, the only tool you need is a T25H Torx bit. Once replaced, I cleared the DTC code with my Blue Driver OBD reader.

This MAF fit my car perfectly, was easy to install and completely corrected the stall outs that I was having. I did watch a couple videos before doing the installation. Based on those, we disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes to reset everything. The price was significantly lower than what we could find at regular auto parts stores. Be aware that you do need a special tool to remove/replace the security screws. These are pretty widely available though.

At first I gave this 5 stars. It solved my acceleration problem immediately. About 2 weeks later, a problem developed with idle when the car was hot. I never dreamed it could be this sensor; after all, it solved the original problem. Well, there were no OBD codes, and all we could do was replace parts that could have caused the problem, all of the time assuming it could not be this MAF sensor.. We changed the IAC Valve, the Fuel Pressure Regulator, the MAP Sensor, the PCV Valve, the Vacuum manifold, and even the throttle body. We did not see what else it could be, other than perhaps the intake manifold. We hired a shop to do a smoke test, but nothing. Finally, a GM expert online suggested it could only be one of 3 things causing my problem. One of them was that the new MAF sensor was bad. Since I had access to another Buick Park Avenue, I swapped the sensors between the two cars, and the problem followed the sensor. I thought I saved money, but it ended up costing me several hundred dollars trying to solve this problem, all because I saw 4 star reviews. Looking closer, reviews were mostly either 5 stars, or 1 star. Since I was one of those 5 star reviewers also, all I can guess it that like the others who gave it one star, the the 5 star people had good results when first installed, and never updated their reviews, or realized this was the cause of their problems. This product needs to be removed from Amazon!!!
