The float bowl gasket does not really fit right and you may have problems sealing the port that goes to the primer bulb. This is essential for the engine to actually run. The results will be that you may not be able to start the engine or it will stall out when you try to accelerate. I had to boil the gasket to make it shrink so it fits. Also the kit did not come with absolutely everything you need like a float needle or primer ball but it works for a basic rebuild.

So, I replaced all the carb gaskets and tiny spring that holds the 2mm(appx) checkball (not included but the spring was). Everything matched up on the 8hp merc 2 stroke except the carb mount on engine gasket which was missing a whole section. For $12 I got gasket material from O'reilly's and made the gasket with a scissors and xacto blade from the blue siliconized material but ended up using the old gasket still on there. She was a bit hard but not flaky so I simply used a dab of electric grease to cover it and make sure it stays soft and doesn't loose it's seal. The bowl gasket in this kit is too thin. It works, but it's scary thin, so you might consider making one of those from a thicker rubber sheet also. It was a questionable fit. At least the kit here had some good stuff and you can use the gaskets as a reference to make better ones. It just take a ball point pen , an xacto blade, and some patients. This type of rebuild does not normally require the use of any adhesives and I would not use them. A bit of electric grease ( a silicon that does not dry) may come in handy though. The gas shouldn't dissolve it but do a test with yours to see for yourself. Some brands might differ.Update; would not run. I discovered the bowl was leaking bad when priming, so pulled it apart to find the bowl seal (rubber) was too large now as it had expanded and would not go back in. It's almost paper thin anyway not like the stock seal! This is unacceptable so I had to change the rating to 1 star.
