Changed the Vapor Canister Purge and Vapor Canister Vent valves on my 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0L. This immediately cleared the check engine light (code was small leak on evap system). Well worth the fix for an 18 year-old car. In my explorer, the part can be found under the battery compartment. It can also be reached from under the driver-side front tire after unscrewing two bolts holding the cover.

My sister has a '99 Explorer and a few weeks ago her check engine light came on. I used my Innova 3160 scanner to pull the code and figured out the purge solenoid was bad. Once replaced, I cleared the code and everything has been working like normal.
