It's a door jamb switch. What more can I say? It works.

It’s located in a hard to reach spot inside the all four doors, make sure you do your homework before start working on your doors lock.

I purchased this door jamb relay because my interior lights were not coming on when I opened my driver door from the inside. Also, when I opened the driver door from the outside, the interior lights would come on only because that activates the light timer (allowing time to enter vehicle and insert ignition key) but, I realized the interior lights would go off after 30 seconds even with the driver door open. This relay serves as a switch when the door latch is in the open position, i.e. the interior lights will remain on while the door is open and switch off when the door is closed.*UPDATE - THIS IS WRONG:This fix corrected my light problem and I also think it eliminated an issue I was having with my alarm going off unexpectedly. Previously, my alarm began to go off inadvertently where I think this relay may have been cracked (and shorting electrically) causing the alarm to sound without warning. This may be coincidence but, I haven't had an unexpected alarm sound since replacing this relay.*I LEARNED THE ALARM PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH.Anyway, I'm quite happy with this relay/switch...it was easy to install/replace. I would love it if it didn't cost so much for such a very simple replacement part.
