Got the part on time but it was missing the float and the arm was sticking out of the package

The part works excellently after installing it, but the floating square should be oval; it won’t fit unless you are willing to change the new floating lever with the old one. I ignored the comments, and I learned that it doesn’t, but I quickly learned. I installed on a road star Silverado 1700

float is rectangle. the float hole on the tank is oval. it won't fit. had to use original float

No matter what you do this absolutely will not fit inside the fuel tank. The float with the rounded edges is the OEM Yamaha part and the squared edge one is this one sold on Amazon. As you can see by the pictures they are very similar except the float. Due to this incorrect design it simply won't go inside the fuel tank. The opening on the gasket is the same exact shape and size of the tank opening. ..obviously it's not going to work.
