Fits the Motorola XTS 5000 perfectly, it sounds perfect not muffled like other mics. Very sturdy and well put together. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive it is great for what you get. Easy to attach to the radio you do need to tighten it with a flat head screwdriver, I use my finger nail it works just fine.

I use it for working in a County Emergency 911 EMT position, and pairing this with a radio strap will make your life 1 Million times better. I would Suggest using a Homeland 6 Radio Strap😩😩Enjoy it.

I wanted a hand mic for work, but our state budget is not the highest and we have no more left to issue so I just bought my own. This is the simpler model without the volume controls or panic button. Those are nice features, but not an extra $20-60 nice. I haven't used it in a major rain (or even our 7 months of constant heavy drizzle in W. WA) yet, but I'm not planning on letting it get soaked.Edit. It's survived a winter and spring and has gotten pretty wet a few times. It's holding up well. IP55 is good for anything short of a total brownout from a duststorm and most rain (water jet at 6.3mm from the nozzle, but I don't see the pressure on the standard, some call it low pressure water jets).

Absolutely awesome. Full time officer, and the radio I got was missing the mic/speaker. Instead of waiting for the department to buy me one, I bought this one. So far, looks like it was worth spending a little extra and getting the mic and speaker combo. After all, what good is having an external mic if you still have to unholster the radio to hear it. Awesome product that could mean the difference between life and death.

A must have if your department is too cheap to issue one. My department uses outdated Motorola XTS-1500 radios and this works perfectly with them. I wear it daily on duty and have not had any issues with clarity (other than when the Deputies who just drank their 3rd Montser try to talk). It's loud, does not distort at high volumes and is so much easier and safer than having to sacrifice one hand to retrieve the radio out the belt.

Motorola makes a good product. It seems ridiculous to pay so much for a radio mic when there are versions on the market for around $40, but it's absolutely worth it to pay the difference for the name brand. I've had both now and the Motorola mic is strong and durable while the $40 went in the garbage after a few months of use. The only reason I used the cheap mic was because a coworker stole my original Motorola.
