This seems expensive, but it’s so convenient! Nice to be able to adjust the level of heat on the open fire cooking. And if you set up at a bit of an angle , all the grease drains off the griddle right into the fire!

I got this grolill to cook in my backyard fire pit. It works great. The only thing I wish it had was 3-4 prongs that go in the ground for sturdiness. I had no problem cooking on it but it would be much better. I may find a welder to add little bit more height and the ground prongs. Overall I am happy with purchase. It is well made!

This was UHMAZING for our boondocking trip. This made cooking so much easier than I could have hoped. Easy to maneuver, a lot of versatility where as a straight grate over the pit, or a tripod cooking set up doesn’t. Smart of you need to move coals around, or add wood to the fire. Even the property owner stopped by and commented on how cool it was. Thanks for this, it made cooking over a fire way more manageable.

We received this grill/griddle in April 2020 and have used it on every one of our camping trips (usually 1-2/month). It is heavy, but doesn't take up a lot of space in the car and is so convenient for when you don't have a grill at your campsite, or the grate is too high above the base for the charcoal. I also love that the huge griddle allows you to fry an entire pack of bacon at once or cook eight pancakes at the same time!Unfortunately, in our 11th month of using, it starting "bending" at the middle of the stake one night- turns out that the weld had broken where the two rods screw together (see photo). My husband believes this is a design flaw, that the nut should be nested inside the rod instead of outside. Either way, I contacted the seller about it and within 2 days they responded that they would ship us a new stake free of charge, which I really appreciate- good customer service goes a long way these days!NOTE: We were still able to use it after it broke- just used the bottom half of the rod, set the charcoal pan on the ground and the grill above it, although you have to bend over a lot more to use it...

Yeah baby! I installed this at my country place in the fire pit. I anchored the heavy duty post into a concrete deck post block and I poured concrete around it - making sure that it was perfectly upright. Super stable. I was looking into making a permanent grill in the same spot but figured that it would take way more time and maybe cost more. I’ve used the flat pan for all kinds of frying tasks and it’s very easy to use, very adjustable (get a good pair of welder’s gloves), easy to clean and no rust during this first season. The fabric carrying case is quite sturdy. When not in use I just remove the pan and enjoy a nice campfire place.

The box arrived a little beat up but the content seemed OK went camping with it was pretty bummed when I couldn’t screw the two poles together Threads on pole seemed to be bent. Are used the girls on the fire anyway just propped him up on the rocks they were great they were nice and big quality seems nice and tough. when I got back from camping I Sent an email to the seller and they responded within hours. Was so happy the we’re so easy to get in touch with and did an amazing job correcting my issue. they offered to send me a new pole no questions asked free of charge and it up coming by the end of the week can’t wait for the next camping trip so I can set it up as it should be!

I've owned a few crummy collapsible grills that fall apart. Came across this heavy duty be all end all solution and I am very happy with it. The design is practical and sturdy, I can make large meals for multiple people or a simple one for myself. When setting it up, make sure the stake is planted deep into the soil, especially in sand so it doesn't shift. I had a close call and almost lost a huge meal when rotating trays because the ground was soft. I highly recommend using a sledgehammer for setup. This grill is great for car camping or using in the back yard over a fire pit. Worth every penny.

A long weekend camping trip provided a perfect test environment for the Mountain Man Grill.We cooked eggs, bacon and toast on the griddle surface. The slightly backward angle provided for excellent drainage and the surface heated up and proved nicely non-stick after a few hours seasoning with the included coating and added seasoning grease.The grill section was used for rib-eyes and chicken, resulting in nice charring and wonderful smoke.The next night a great selection of Korean BBQ was grilled.After each use we used hot water and a plastic scraper to clean the ever darkening surfaces. The seasoning is very nice after only 4 uses over the weekend.The only accessories I would recommend are as follows.1) A great set of high temp BBQ gloves or welder so gloves.2) A good set of cooking utensils including tongs, a spatula and fork3) A good quality silicone scraper for cast iron.4) An appetite, love if cooking and the outdoors.

I can not begin to say enough about my new Mnt man grill. Its simple awesome. If you want a grill that is completely a must have. Do your self a favor and get one before your next camping trip. I made the most amazing breakfast morning one. Eggs over easy { NO STICKING }. Bacon cooked up perfectly crisp. Blueberry pancakes n American fries all on one cooking surface. The hot coals from the previous evenings campfire was at the perfect temp for breakfast. No charcoal needed all week long. Though there is a coal box for those who do not wish to cook over the logs from the woods. I tell you there is nothing and I mean nothing like the flavor of natural wood. Through in a few chunks of applewood or hickory. And its famous-Bone steak for dinner. PERFECT. I sautéed the onions and mushrooms directly on the grill surface. Since I bought mine. Three of my friends purchased this must have grill. Once they seen and tasted the food that I made over Memorial weekend. They all ordered one for there family. There is nothing that even comes close to this product. It stands alone with nothing even in a close second. LOVE IT> LOVE IT>>>

It really is a good way to simplify your camp cooking. I almost every cook appliance that Camp Chef makes currently. This set is simple and unique. Its a great way to enjoy the campfire and remember the way it was when I was a kid, simple yet very tasty. The only request would be to see that Camp Chef manufacture all of the products in the US. Works well with wood coals as well as charcoal. The tray and grill were not parallel, but a simple tweak of both took care of that.
