If you make sure you buy the right size, the restrictor will fit. They have a small fit and a regular fit size. It was still a little tricky to get it into the snorkel but it does fit.On my first youth oh, I thought it was subtle on the air restriction. However, on my second use I did a lot of laps much faster and it definitely felt like it was harder to get enough air. Hopefully as I use it more, myfitness will improve.I can feel that it's a little bit harder to get air but so far I think it's subtle. Although, I don't find that I'm enjoying my swim as much. It may just take some getting used toSwam a mile today and did some fast swimming and I could definitely feel it was harder to get enough air.

Do not buy! To small for opening. Falls out when you turn upside down or flip turn. Had to use aquarium sealer to make it stick.

THIS DEVICE REALLY WORKS. IT FIT PERFECTLY. DON'T TAKE THE GREEN CAP THAT CAME WITH THE SNORKEL. THE RESTRICTOR CAP GOES INSIDE THE OTHER CAP. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS CAP. YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WITH CAP AND WITHOUT THE CAP. I RECOMMEND IT. AWSOME.

Great idea actually helps keep water out of snorkel while increasing lung capacity. BUT does not fit- had to wrap it with tape in order to prevent it from falling out.
