Installed the remote start on my 2017 Tacoma. Other reviews were accurate, it takes about 30 minutes and the instructions online (scan QR code) were helpful. The product would be better if the instructions online or included had vehicle specific installation pictures, rather than “in this area you should find a plug like this…”. It would also be helpful to know that on my vehicle, there are 4 screws that I need to remove to install this. There are also some loose wires in the wiring that was included that it is unclear what their function is. There are also some other connectors that plug into the included module, that are also not labeled. After getting everything connected (minus the loose wires), I had a red and a blue connector on the wiring harness that didn’t seem to go anywhere, so I plugged them into each other. The “programming” was easy, just follow the instructions and watch for the lights. I’m still getting used to the remote start-meaning if you push the lock button 3 times and it is too fast or too slow, the vehicle does not start. Also, the vehicle will turn off after running for 15 minutes (after the remote start), and when you get in the vehicle it turns off, then you restart (normally) before beginning your drive. Price is right and the product works for what it is. Glad I didn’t pay a shop to do it.

Works exactly as advertised. Wish it didn't shut off when I opened the door but it is a feature that I was aware of. Haven't had any issues with it and it's been installed for a few months now. Very convenient.

I watched a 10 minute youtube video of a guy installing this. Only took about 20-25 minutes to take apart the underside of the steering wheel, plug everything in, program and put it all back. The only downside to this is because of a safety feature when you open the door after remote starting the truck, it turns itself off. So its slightly annoying but I bought it to warm it up before work in the morning since its freezing temperatures here for 4 months, so it works for what I needed it for. I believe another company sells this product but without the safety shutoff feature which would feel more factory and less "did it myself after market"

Completed the install on my 2018 Tacoma, the unit never displayed the blue light to continue forward with the programming. After checking all connections it did not work. Worse was after disconnecting and plugging the factory plugs back in my truck indicated a low battery and my steering column locked up. Push start and a nightmare. Found the fuse under the dash blown after hours of diagnostic. Thought i was going to end up at Toyota with a big bill! Never did anything to ground out, second time with this brand in another truck. Never again.

I didn't have any issues so no need to contact tech support, so that is why that is not rated. But it was a pretty quick installation and it works as intended and it is as if my car came with it from the factory where I could use my same fobs.'When I was going to go to a dealership to get their version installed (thought it was OEM) but it would required to have a different FOB (fob that only is used for the remote start, still need my OEM fobs) and I didn't want to be carrying two different set of Fobs, so buying this was a no brainer and I basically saved over half the cost.

The product is really easy to install but what I wanna know is why it doesn’t stay on while you’re trying to enter the vehicle to drive it shuts off as you try to enter & I don’t see why it does that if the vehicle is still locked when you use the remote start.

The product is 5 star for sure. The only downside is there is no app available for Canada so we can use the phone instead of the car fob. Installation super easy, took me 45 min and I am not an electrician or mechanic.

Installed in less than 45 minutes. I spent more time trying to figure out where I wanted to route the wires out of harms way and fasten the module so it wouldn’t rattle around under the dashboard. I really like the fact that it uses the factory fob. One less item on the key ring. Instructions were easy to follow and if you look at a couple of YouTube videos you’ll get some hints on how to easily remove the panels. Ready for the cold weather now.

I personally like the product, however the install paperwork would have been better served as a video with accompanying link. I found an equivalent product by a competitors install video and followed their direction to complete the install.

Easy to install (less than 1/2 hour), must be extremely careful with vehicle plastic products (not to damage), need to use a plastic puller (purchase from amazon). DO NOT use screw driver or another sharp product to pull plastic off. You will damage your car and have to look at it every time driving. Follow on-line instructions and Youtube videos of other installations. Make sure to connect the cables as stated. When cycling the controller box make sure to get the Blue light indicator as stated otherwise will not work. Other than that, a bit expensive for the package but at the end its well worth it, having to compare with Toyota asking over $1500 for replacing the Head unit to access remote start is a JOKE.
