The red kettle is sprucing up my stove nicely and is well-made. A true red, shiny enamel on steel, the perfect size, with a real wooden handle. Just what I wanted. I love it!

I kinda wish I had read reviews first, I hope this little beauty doesn't rust quickly. I have never had a kettle last very long, so I don't expect much. But now that it is winter I drink tea every day, so it needs to last a few months. My last kettle didn't even last a year getting stained on my stove from fire and splatter. The enamel coating on this one seems thicker and more cleanable, and I'm not planning to leave it on the stove. The color was a little more dark blue in person, not as teal/peacock as the photos look. I like the size, a little smaller than most. I love the style and always need a wood handle. I actually like that the lid is loose, I have ruined most of my kettles by leaving water in it because the lid is to hard to get off. Hopefully dumping it immediately will delay rust and water film. (Although I did slightly burn my hand with the steam the first time I used because the lid fell off pouring.) I still prefer a loose lid. I don't mind that it doesn't whistle, I don't like my water that hot anyways. Just hope I never forget it boiling on the stove. Very nice, I would recommend at the Amazon price of $33 but probably not much more.

I was looking for a blue teakettle like this that I like it very much, except that it has an issue with the cover. The cover should have a small bump on the outside blue edge of the cover to prevent it from falling off when you pour the water. there is a bump is on the inside of the cover so you have to hold the knob on the top when pouring.would like it if I could just get a replacement cover to fix this problem. I am keeping the teakettle.

After looking at the reviews I passed on this a lot. Kept it on wish list though. I want the one that cost 200 dollars, but that is extreme, so I came back to this. I like it and I have used it about 8 times since purchase. I love the style of it and the color, this is why I wanted it. Most complained of rust. I will wait to see if I have that problem. The only negative I have is when pouring out the water the lid is loose, but I like the way the lid goes on, so I will live with it. The lid has not fallen off during pouring. .

It's a nice looking kettle but when I took it out of the box and practiced pouring tea the lid fell off every time I did it. If there had been hot water in the kettle I would have gotten burned. I had to return the item.

I'm 100% pleased with the quality of my Mr Coffee 1.5 QT enamel tea kettle thus far. The enamel on mine is perfect - inside and out! I love the style, quality AND great price! I've seen negative reviews that mention spots where bare metal is exposed as well as complaints about rust forming. In my case, there is no exposed metal. Considering I follow instructions and towel out any remaining water after using it, I'm hoping and rather confident that the kettle will last a long time. But I'll update this review if what appears to be excellent quality enamel starts to breakdown, rust, etc. I've also seen negative scores due to the lack of a whistle. Sorry, but that's not valid feedback. There was no whistle listed or mentioned as a feature AND my own two eyes easily confirmed that there is no whistle. Considering the great price, excellent quality, and beautiful style, this is definitely a FIVE STAR tea kettle in my opinion!

Update 4 months later:I don’t know what the deal is but I’m highly irritated. I bought this kettle in May and there are now light rust stains inside the kettle. I’ve emptied water after I use the kettle, hand wash but I guess I didn’t dry “thoroughly.” I’ve never had a kettle rust. I just bought this in May. When I first bought it and realized it didn’t whistle, I still kept it. Mistake. Now I have to find another kettle. If I could, I would now give this zero stars—-////Whistle doesn’t work at all. The kettle is small, but still a good size for my needs. However, it’s irritating that it doesn’t whistle. I have to remember to stay close to the kitchen to hear the water boiling.
