The Wej-It MS14 expansion shield anchor is made of antimonial lead and zamac alloy, provides a secure hold in most materials including solid masonry and uncracked concrete, and meets Federal Specifications A-A 1922A Type 1 and FFS-325C Group 1, Type 1, Class 1. It can be used to anchor within uneven holes and soft materials, and its antimonial lead sleeve and zamac alloy cone resist rust for extended use.

Also known as a machine screw anchor, the expansion shield anchor has a sleeve that expands around the anchor's cone base when the included setting tool is inserted, holding the anchor in place within the mounting material. After the setting tool has been removed, an item can be mounted by inserting a machine screw (sold separately) through it and into the anchor.

Too bad for all the complaints about not having a set tool. Set tools that they could give you for free, or not the best way to install these expansion anchors. The simple set tool is just a metal punch with a pin to go in the center to line it up. The problem with that is when you drill into a hollow section of the block. You may push the anchor through, cursing at the hole you made, and wondering how you are going to set that anchor in the hole you made. Greelee makes a tool that will set the anchor no matter where you make the hole. You can get it on Amazon, and many other places. It isn't as cheap as the usual free tool you can get with some of these expansion anchors, but you get what you pay for. Here is a link to the 1/4x20 model, be sure that you get the model that fits these anchors, they make them in a lot of different sizes. This one is for these anchors, which as 1/4x20. https://www.amazon.com/Greenlee-868-Anchor-Expander-Caulking/dp/B001SGP1I6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1532441852&sr=8-1&keywords=greenlee+868

purchased 2 boxes. Neither came with the setting tool, which is needed to actually set the anchors into the cement block wall. Should have ordered directly from the manufacturer.

Wow how easy was that? Installed these into concrete block house to mount hurricane shutters. Mind your screw length and drill depth accordingly. I have 1 1/2" screws and 5/8" plywood so I drilled the 1/2" diameter hole to 1" deep. Don't go much deeper than that if installing in concrete block. @ 1" deep the anchor will be reassessed about an 1/8 of an inch. Make sure you have the set tool for these.

I purchased two boxes (200) of these anchors. Neither box contained the setting tool that should be in the box according to the product description. In addition, one box was short 3 anchors and the other was short two. I counted. I havent used any of the anchors yet because I dont have a setting tool. I hope that are no hurricanes on the horizon.
