I've been using this in a 49:1 unun and it has performed flawlessly with my 20W rig. I have another mix-31 toroid from this brand that I use as a choke. Recommended.

This is a well manufactured toroid core. There's minimal pitting from the molding process, and the edges are chamfered so that they won't damage wire insulation. Its a great item for making an end-fed half wave antenna.

Nicely made ferrite toroid core. It doesn't suffer from significant temperature related loses until the temps rise above 212*F. It can be used to build a high frequency antenna that can operate across a broad frequency range. I'm still experimenting with my antenna build as I'm newer to HAM. But its a nice component to have in your kit.

The FT-240-43 ferrite core is well made and has a smooth finish without any noticeable, pits, roughness or blemishes. Type 43 ferrite material is suitable for winding balun transmission transformers that can operate over the frequency range of about 25-200MHz without excessive heating and/or power loss. Design of baluns can be found in the book "Transmission Line Transformers" by Jerry Sevick (Scitech Press).

Bought 2 of these, have noticed no difference whatsoever. Not 100% of the composition of the material.

The FT-240-43 ferrite toroid core is a great toroid. It has a smooth finish free from chips or pitting. Its dimensions match the specs listed: 2.4" outer diameter, 1.4" inner diameter, and 0.5" height.I incorporated this toroid into a 49:1 transformer for an end-fed half-wave (EFHW) antenna, and it performed as expected. I don't get much EMI/RFI noise on the antenna, so it seems comparable to other toroid chokes, making it a solid choice for noise suppression in the 20 MHz to 250 MHz range . I imagine it can be used for baluns above 250 MHz, its efficiency may decrease.Regarding power handling, the FT-240-43's capacity depends on the winding and wire gauge used. For instance, using 14-gauge wire, it can handle up to 200 watts SSB. For higher power applications, stacking multiple cores or opting for a larger core might be better.Overall, the toroid offers excellent value for its price.

Item arrived in good condition, in a box that protected it well during shipping. Used it to build a 4:1 unun and it performed as expected on all bands!
