These flame arresters can attach between the torch and the hose set. Threading is such that it connects to each threaded end (left hand and right hand threading). These arresters will stop flame passing back through the torch and into the hoses (and possibly back to the tank!). I've never had a flame back up into my particular torch but I certainly wouldn't want to experience one that got back into the tubing. There are two of each so you can supply two torch heads/hose sets with one order.
