The all to dreaded check engine light suddenly illuminated on the instrument panel of my 08 Honda Element and instantly I saw dollar signs! A quick trip to a local auto parts store quickly identified the problem as the knock sensor. After doing some research, I decided to purchase the part off of Amazon at half the cost of what local parts stores were selling it for. On the Element this is not an easy swap out because of where the sensor is located on the motor. After a couple of hours of working to get the old one out and the new one installed; no more check engine light and the car is running like a champ!
