Item description: 0.375 inch OD aluminum tube, 25 ftBrand: MuHizeItem: B0DJXX5DCNDate received: 2025-03-25Headline - no certifications; the alloy hardness is unclear; the wall thickness is 0.030 inch vs describedProduct Claims1 ct, 3/8 Inch OD 1060 alloy aluminum tube, 25 ft in length of 3/8" OD by 0.315 inch ID, coiled and plastic wrappedI received exactly what was claimed in the product description (except for the wall thickness). The product description says this is 1006 aluminum, which is not a known aluminum alloy, so perhaps they meant 1060 aluminum, which is a commercially-pure (99.6%) wrought aluminum - and in fact if you peruse all of the product description images you will see another image that says this is 1060 "hard" aluminum, which makes more sense. However, which of the "hard" conditions this tube is in remains unclear, as the aluminum association recognizes 10 levels of work-hardened 1060, plus the fully annealed 1060-0 condition. 1060 aluminum varies in properties from fully annealed 0-temper (10 ksi tensile strength, 30% elongation, with no true "yield" strength) to H28 temper (18 ksi tensile strength, 14 ksi yield strength, and only 1.1 elongation at failure) . The form arrives in a coil as pictured, wrapped in plastic. The OD of the tube is approximately 0.375 inches (with a few thousands of variation plus or minus). The ID is approximately 0.315 inches, meaning that tube wall thickness is about 0.030 inch (the description says it is 0.11 inch thick, which is incorrect). The supplier claims a pressure rating of 14213 psi, but provides no certification or data for that rating.I was able to readily form a double-flare end on this tube using a standard inexpensive tube double-flare kit - the material that was work hardened during the drawing or extrusion tube process was not hardened so much that reduced ductility was an issue - the tube flared just fine without splitting during he flaring process. When cutting this tube with a tubing cutter, be very careful not to overtighten the cutting screw (easy to do) or you will dent the tubing and create an oval cross section.

I ordered this for a non-fuel application, and it is not going to be under significant internal pressure. It arrived as a clean flat spiral without kinks and straightened easily. The outer diameter is pretty close to the stated 0.375", within the limits of my calipers, with a wall thickness around 0.030". It was easily bent to shape with an inexpensive hand tube bender and was able to be flared without any difficulty. I'm happy with it.

This 3/8 tubing was the flexibility I was hoping for, and it cut and deburred easily and fit up well for the section it needed to fit. I didn't detect any areas with excessive or uneven flex that might indicate uneven wall thickness, so that was a good sign. I'm glad to have spare tubing on hand for the future, as it takes up next to no space on the shelf in its coiled form. Solid value.
