I use my microscope for soldering and was worried that the fumes from the soldering iron could affect my lenses on my stereoscopic trinocular microscope. I'm using a amscope and this fit perfectly and if any residue from the fumes get on anything it'll be this flat piece of glass that cost a few dollars and not the expensive objective lenses.
