Some of the older Pontiacs have a dash that is hard to grip and this, after testing for over a month with my apple 12 mini held in place with no give. I sure would recommend this after putting it through its trials with my nice little ole phone and now I don't ever think about or worry. Strong Grip and can grip at the oddest angles where many will not.

I'm completely disappointed in this. It doesn't hold on very well and will slowly start sliding off when your phone is attached. I ended up throwing it away n/c it was past my return window before I opened it. I was hopefully and confident it would work, however it didn't. 10/10 do not recommend.

I have a QX80, which has somewhat of a curve to my gauge cluster, angling down. The mount for the holder needs to be able to squeeze into a gap on the bottom side for it to work properly on your vehicle. This was close, but resulted in it being squeezed off and hitting my driver's side window when turning. Could have been worse if it were summer time! Not a fault of the device, which is well built, has good clamping strength and looks good. Just not viable for my car. Tried it on our other car, a Sienna and it didn't work on it either. When you're considering this mount, the important part us the bottom side of the area its clamping to. If it slopes away and down, it will likely squeeze itself off.5 stars due to build quality, price and how good it would have been for me. I can't take stars away because it didn't work on my car.

First off, it's less than $5.Anything wrong with it can be excused because of how affordable it is.That said, this product doesn't fit an ND Miata, that's for sure, but a Miata has an odd dash with extremely minimal room between the dash trim and the windshield.Still, assuming this works at all on other vehicles, this deserves at least an 8/10 given how crazy affordable it is.

1. Transparency warningI received this product for review. I was not paid for my opinion, I have not been contacted by the seller, and my opinion is my own honest opinion for better or worse. The only difference between my normal reviews and my Vine reviews, are I try to go more in depth out of courtesy for others and in respect of the program itself. I also still have to pay taxes, actually use the product, and spend time writing this.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------2. Initial ImpressionsPackaging was done very well and everything was in great shape.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------3. Performance and FeaturesI was super excited about trying out this phone holder, and am still happy about it after doing so, but not in the way I expected. I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV, putting it over the gauge cluster is a no-go for me. It's just too much in the way of blocking my view. Instead, like others, I simply opted to move it elsewhere. For me this is currently on my Sun visor. I'm tall enough and boosted enough from my seat cushion that it's perfectly out of my view when looking straight, but a quickly glance to my right and I can see it perfectly.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------4. Strengths- Can fit multiple different areas with it's unique design- Very strong grip, not likely to move- Holds the phone better than expected-------------------------------------------------------------------------------5. Weaknesses or Suggestions- Blocks too much of the view with large phones to go where it's designed for- Really awkward release, you better be ready to catch your phone if it's not down low-------------------------------------------------------------------------------6. Value for MoneyFor $8 it's not bad at all. Cheap enough you're not mad if it's not for you. It's a fair deal.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------7. Overall Rating★ - Product is in dire need of improvements before it is worth purchasing. I would probably not consider purchasing again.★★ - Product does not meet expectations, needs improvement, and/or is not worth purchasing at the price-point. I might consider purchasing again with improvements.★★★ - Product is adequate, as expected, and is average for it's quality, price, and features. I would consider purchasing again.★★★★ - Product is above average and meets specific needs. I would purchase again.★★★★★ - A fantastic, well-made product, that meets specific needs/wants, is expected to last, and I would absolutely purchase again. My rating for this product: ★★★-------------------------------------------------------------------------------8. Would You Recommend It?I would recommend trying the phone holder as cheap as it is. Worst case you don't like it and you spent $8 to give it to someone else or throw it away. Best case you have a nifty new phone holder with a unique design.

I really was banking on this phone holder. I've tried it in 2 different cars; KN Soul and Mitsubishi Lancer. The good - The spring loaded clip portion works really well. Has a solid grip, usually. The phone bracket works well, and there is a myriad of positions it folds into. The bad - It works best, in the cars I tested, on the dash, behind the steering well. However, the phone is set quite high and obstructs the view. I tried attaching it to the visors. In the Soul, it nearly hits my head and makes it impractical to mount a phone and safely view it. In the Lancer, there's a little more room and I didn't get the impression my head would hit it. However, if there's a cord going from the phone to the car for charging/interfacing, it will definitely be in the way. With the Soul, I tried from the review mirror, but then lose a significant portion of the mirror and the phone hangs down, blocking a portion of the peripheral view, which I'm not comfortable with, especially with inner city driving. With both vehicles, there was no other alternative to attach it. Thus, it seems at first glance, this would be very effective with a diverse array of options to clip onto in a car, in reality, it just falls very short.
