Great frets, are what they say. Not pre cut so make sure to have some good snips, otherwise awesome product for cheap and super easy to install even with a limited luthier kit.

I have had the privilege of being a guitar repairman and designer of solid body electric guitars. I purchased these stainless steel frets to replace the normal nickel frets I had installed. First off, the stainless steel frets are much harder in density which is very desirable for a player. Less wear on the frets means a longer life from dents from string wear. With these particular frets, you will have to trim them to size to fit your guitar. I do appreciate that the tung or bottom portion of the fret wire has been cut back on each end. However, since these frets are longer than my fretboard I needed to make one side much shorter before installing them. A normal metal file will be fine for the finish work after the frets are installed, but I highly recommend that you under cut the tung wire on the side you have to shorten to make it much easier to finish the job. Overall, my first re fret went great and the guitar plays better and sounds brighter with these stainless steel frets. I have purchased this product twice now and have no regrets.

No issues, frets are amply long enough for any fret on a six string, maybe even an 8 string. Oddly both ends of the fret tangs are already prenipped. It’s a nice touch but the frets will have to be trimmed anyway making it an extra manufacturing step that doesn’t really matter. If you want the fret tang to run full length and not be nipped at all they are long enough

Musiclily sells some great stuff for the price, but this fretwire has a SEVERE quality control issue. TWO sets now have turned out to have significantly mismatched fret heights. This is something you won't notice until you try to level them. The widths are the same, so it's not noticeable until leveling. If you try to install them without leveling, they will literally ruin your guitar. This utter neglect has caused me to have to refret two guitars that I built now. This is a job that takes several hours and costs hundreds of dollars per guitar. It's infuriating. The first time was seriously irritating, but I thought it might be a fluke. But now that I'm leveling the frets on a second guitar and am having this issue, I'm furious. How could this even happen, Musiclily?! How can you possibly package completely different frets together and sell them to people? It's an astonishing degree of neglect and incompetence. The amount of people who have been screwed over because of this is likely in the hundreds, if not thousands. It's completely unacceptable!

They do the trick. These appear to be stainless steel so my old pair of fret cutters would not cut these for anything. I got the Stew Mac fret clipping tool and it works just fine. Frets installed easily and are working well.
