How to use the MUV Backcountry Pump Water Filter
PUMP
Used with the inlcuded RUSH Pump, the filters can easily filter a large amount of water for families, groups, scouts, and more.
INLINE
Similar to the way you would use the water filter as a gravity syste, you can also use the MUV2 Hollow Fiber water filter inline with your hydration backback. This makes it easy to filter water through your hydration system while you are on the go.
WATER BOTTLE
The PRE+28 connector comes pre-threaded to screw directly onto a standard water or soda bottle. Perfect for thu-hiking, lightweight backpacking, survival situations and more.

MUV1 Activated Carbon Fiber Features:
Unlike traditional activated carbon in powder or granular form, Activated Carbon Fiber is a fibrous adsorbent that is 10x more absorbent than traditional activated carbon and gives you faster flow rates. Activated Carbon Fiber removes chemicals, chlorine, heavy metals, discoloration of water, improves water taste, and more.

MUV2 0.1 Micron Hollow Fiber Features:
Hollow Fiber membrane are tiny hollow tubes that look like straws. These tubes have a porous membrane wall and works through size exclusion. Clean water is allowed to go through the membrane while larger contaminants cannot fit through the pores. Hollow Fiber blocks bacteria, E. Coli, Cholera, Typhoid, protozoa, Cryptosporidium, and parasites (Giardia). Our Hollow Fiber membrane filters down to 0.1 microns.

The idea of a modular water filter system with pump is a great idea. This is not the realization of that idea. Luckily I tested it before taking it on a backcountry hike. I pumped until my arm was sore and could not get any water through it. So the pump does not work. Next I removed the pump and tried pushing water through it from a squeeze bottle. Barely a trickle came through and water sprayed out from between the main filter and the carbon filter. Then I tried to use it as a straw. Almost caved my forehead in trying to suck water through it. Next test: gravity filter. Water flows at a snails pace and takes way too long to filter a liter.

The pump does not work. If you want my Renovo system, it's where it belongs, in a land fill.

Be aware. The pump is junk. Bought one and will not pump any water. Maybe if you enjoy working out then use it for that purpose LOL. Learn from my mistake and ditch it. If you still don't believe me go ahead and find out for yourself. Very bad engineering design. Even the Chinese will not copy this. I'm in the process to see if Renovo can refund my money back. If not oh well....it's just $30 USD for the pump so I'll eat it.

Hello, I finally was able to use my new purchase of the Renovo Water MUV backcountry pump water filter. I read the instructions several times, but it would not work. The first filter (charcoal) did work as a pump, but the second filter when attached, would not. I have tried it by itself as a water straw and still no water would filter through. I also notice a small “broken” piece where the “pump” portion attaches on, so this is creating a probably for a proper seal. I notice it was shipped like this, as I just took it out of the package during my camping trip, so it was not created by user error. I have seen videos where previous customers of this product, also had issues of it working properly. I like the idea this product can offer, but unfortunately this product cannot deliver same outcome consistently.

Was very very much looking forward to this then it didn't work, had tp send me upgrade pcs and still didn't pump water, they wouldn't send me a complete new unit ..just new filter, still didn't work, have up and for that price. it should have worked. Going back to Sawyer squeeze.

The idea of a modular water filter system is astonishing to say the least. The ability to take away and add modules based upon your situation is a freedom that most Preppers would love. However the pump itself is extremely disappointing. The pump was unable to pump water even after three dozen Strokes and fails to build up enough pressure. Even when water was coming out it was filled with an acceptable amount of air and not a constant stream like the pumps from MSR or Katadyn. When the filter is configured into inline mode it works terrific. However the pump itself is poorly designed. The pump handle has a bad tendency to pinch fingers when trying to go at high speed. Had to pump at extremely high speed to get any kind of water through it I am hoping that it is a faulty pump and I have contacted renovo on the situation and I am expecting a replyEDIT:I received a reply from renovo telling me they would replace the pump and also advised me that the pump will only work when held in the vertical position. I held the pump in a vertical position and after 50 Strokes with no water I gave up.
