Bought these to catch the sediment coming from a DIY filter box for a duck pond. The lava rock was putting a lot of concrete dust into the water and through my pump. Not good. So, I hung one of these socks from each of the outlet pipes, catching the dust that might try to make its way back into the water. This worked VERY well. These socks not only catch the lava rock dust, they catch lots of other mess that would otherwise get pumped right back into the pond. These are HUGE socks and hold a lot of gunk, and with multiple socks in the package, I can change them often and reuse them. The water is slowly but surely getting much clearer since installing these. I like that there is a small handle on the inside that I can use to keep the socks in place at the end of the outlet pipes, I just used a heavy rubber band (from bunches of broccoli), to loop over the outlet pipe and around the handle/loop to keep the socks from floating off. These are sturdy enough I'm sure they will last a good long while, but when they need replacing, I will be ordering more!

I was in need of some new sock filters for my saltwater tank's sump. 24usd for 8 of these is a bargain compared to picking them up at the somewhat-local store. These appear to be made exactly like the ones I've been using. I found no issues with stitching, etc.

These filter socks are well made. The material is very durable and does not feel cheap. I like that the seams are double stitched instead of being glued. The socks look neat and perfect for large aquariums or ponds. Each sock has a plastic rim opening. These socks keep the water very clear and can be used to remove detritus from the water column. The material is thick enough for easy cleaning and doesn’t get damaged when cleaning. These filter socks are a large size so I would make sure to get the size that is manageable for your needs.

I think these aquarium socks are good. There’s not anything I would say is too bad about them, other than the mounting situation that you’ll probably need to handle yourself. I found that these ones leave the water far clearer than the ones that I usually buy at Big Als, though your mileage may vary there. Here’s what I like about them:-They’re made well-They have triple the thickness of normal socks.-They’re double stitched on, and don’t use glue-They catch most of the dirt and particles-Leaves the water pretty clearAnd here’s what I don’t like about it:-It’s harder to use, as there aren’t any mounts on these socks.-They’re harder to clean, the thickness means that there’s a lot of stuff that gets stuck inside the sock.I think the only thing that I don’t like is that they’re harder to mount than the ones that come from brick and mortar stores. That’s mainly because they don’t really have a mounting solution, and you have to figure that out yourself.I do think I’d recommend them though, as they work well, and leave the water coming out of it super clear. At $32 I think they’re a really good value, especially because you get 8 of them, compared to any other store you may buy it from.

these socks are the best. I've tried other brands and they just didn't seem to be as efficient in removing debris. in fact, they are so efficient they seem to pull a lot out and clog more frequently.I'd rather have clogged and clean than dirty water with less sock changes.my corals are valuable enough to use more filers than less.

Quality product. Would recommend. Reused and washed several times and they are holding up like new. I am thinking about another lot because I need more in the rotation and washing cycle. My reek tank is cleaner than ever.
