This gas valve didn’t work for me. The vendor however was very helpful and quick to respond with a credit.

This was the best price I could find anywhere. I wanted to be able to still run the generator on gasoline as well as natural gas. This was an easy conversion and I have no way to prove this, but it sounds like the generator runs smoother on natural gas. I will not have to go get gasoline at all next time we lose power. The most expensive part was special ordering a 50' 3/4'' hose and quick connect fittings. but it will all be worth it not to have to do a gas run.

Works like a champ! Read the other reviews. Those are the best instructions you will get. Also, add a shut off valve for your fuel line if you don’t already have one. You can get one on the lawn mower isle at your local big box store. You’ll have to drill out the holes on the air cleaner case. Use the third bolt extender for the bottom of the air cleaner.Once everything is installed, I started the generator on gasoline. Ensure there are lots of wraps of pipe thread tape on the bleed valve on top. Have the bleed screw on screwed in just a few threads. Have two open end wrenches standing by to tighten nut and bolt on top. Close the fuel valve and wait a couple of minutes. As the engine started to die, open your valve that supplies the natural gas. You will hear a difference when both gas and NG are feeding the engine. As the gas dies out the NG takes over. Turn the bleed valve on the top of the reducer to insert it further. Keep turning until the engine start dying. Back out half a turn. Tighten the set nut.

This was pretty simple to put together, maybe an hour just taking my time. I haven't had to use this in an actual emergency yet and hope i don't have to. The first start was pretty hard and i ended up starting my generator with gasoline first. after getting it running on gasoline and adding the natural gas until it ran on its own, i got it adjusted to run right. I have started it several more times since then and usually two or three pulls and it starts and runs good. As i said before, i hope i never have to use this but the last time we were without power the only utility we had was natural gas. that outage lasted for about 12 or 13 days. I hope to be a little more prepared the next time.

I bought this kit so I could run my Generac RS5500 on gasoline or natural gas. I had a gas fitter tap into my gas meter (CL250 275CFH 5psi) and run 21 feet of 1” pipe to a shut-off valve near where I run the generator. From there I have 20 feet of ¾” hose (from M.B. Sturgis Inc.) with a quick-connect fitting at the valve and a 3/4 “FPT at the generator regulator.I had a couple of minor glitches with the installation. First, the carburetor stud extenders were too large to fit into the air filter housing holes, preventing a tight seal between the carburetor, venturi adapter, and the air filter. I drilled out the plastic on the air filter housing to allow for this, and that solved the problem. The air filter housing just fits inside the generator frame.Mounting the demand regulator required some creativity. I settled on a wood base bolted through existing holes in the frame. The demand regulator is bolted to the bracket included with the kit, which in turn is screwed to the wood base. No modifications to the frame were necessary. As others have mentioned, there’s no room to fit a hose clamp on the venturi adaptor, but mine fit so tight that I don’t believe any is required. My generator started up from cold (50 degrees) on the second pull, with the load block backed out 6 turns from snug. I loaded-tested and adjusted the load block with 4,500 watts and it runs perfectly.
