This is as sturdy as it should be, it seems to be made of good quality plastics and flexible with a decent cable size. Now that being said, always remember that this is a temporary use item. You are putting a 15amp cord and accessories in front of a 30amp breaker. The 30 amp breaker can cause damage or melt 15amp accessories. However, when need to run an appliance on the dock, it is tough to beat.

I bought this adapter by mistake. I actually the connection the other way around. Looking at this piece of equipment however, it appears well made and should serve anybody's purpose who needs this type of Shore power set up. Can't see any reason why it shouldn't get 5 stars.

Someone "borrowed" my last one, so I found this one and I am using it for the same purpose. I am running an extension cord from the dock into the cockpit, where this acts as the adapter to keep a trickle charge on my batteries. They in turn ensure the bilge pump is working as well as having shore power for my 120V outlets in the galley, etc. Seems well made and fits well in the onboard power plug.

Recommended highly for boat or RV use, this 30A male to 15A female pigtail is ruggedly built and does the job. It features a built-in LED light that indicates when power is present - very useful when troubleshooting electrical issues. For convenience, I use it with a 10 gauge heavy duty extension cord to power tools or a small heater. As another reviewer has noted, a 30A breaker takes 30A to trip, by which time you may have toasted a problematic 15A utility, but normally this shouldn't be a problem. With a two year warranty and decent price, I don't know what more you could expect.

Plugs right in to my L5-30R on my generator and locks nicely. Connects nicely to my 10 gauge 5-15 extension cord where I break into two circuits inside the house for emergencies. Nice length to the adapter -- not too long, not to short. It's not the most flexible cable, but it gets the job done. Very pleased.
