I've been trying to fix the front diff leak on my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 for years.I replaced the left seal twice. The 2nd time it was obvious the bearing was bad when I knew I installed the seal correctly and it still leaked. That and major flex play from the CV axle were clues.I tried searching YouTube on how to pull this bearing? I can verify now you don't have to separate the upper or lower ball joints.I did remove the left strut assembly. I removed left CV axle. I also removed left sway bar link. But that was probably not necessary.I tried pulling the bearing with my 2lb Harbor Freight slide hammer kit. Nothing in the kit would grab and hold onto the bearing.I wish I had bought the 16pc Orion Blind bearing pull kit as nobody local stocks something like that. The Harbor Freight kit is to small. And if anyone else could order something like it,your spending 5 times as much as that kit for it. Kind of unnecessary for a 1 time repair.I rented from AutoZone a 3 jaw puller and 5lb slide hammer. I learned only 2 of 3 jaws would fit the bearing. And there's no way you'll have clearance to use a 5lb slide hammer with the steering knuckle in the way on 07 and newer. Unlike the 07 classic that might have the clearance. With a spare nut I had.I was able to thread my 2lb slide hammer onto to rented 3 jaw puller with using only 2 jaws and I was able to pull it out after 3-4 pulls.I drove the new bearing back in with my Pittsburgh 27mm impact socket that was the same diameter as the bearing and a ball pin hammer.I drove the new seal in with my 1 and 3/4" socket I had purchased for a previous repair. After everything was put back together,I don't have a diff leak anymore. And there's allot less vibration on the left side of the truck now when on the highway. You could feel the vibrations on the steering wheel.I would point out this repair is a band aid solution. If you have 1 bad bearing, realize you'll probably have more bad bearings inside your front differential. You have to sperate the differential to replace the passenger side inner axle bearing and seal. And if you get as far as separating your differential after pulling it,you might as well consider a full rebuild of your differential. Or trade it in as a core for a rebuilt or new one.My Sierra has frame beaming and rot problems. And I know it doesn't have another 16 years of life in it before it finds itself in a bone yard somewhere in Wisconsin.

Same as the worn part I took out of my 2013 Silverado Z71. I found all sorts of conflicting information on the internet as to what bearing fit, and this is the one on the Driver's side, front inner axle. It fixed the grumbling grinding sound I've been chasing for a while. I noticed a little end play in the front axle where it met the front differential. You can change this bearing without dropping the diff. You need some pullers to get it popped out. This was exactly the same part I took out. Truck rides silently now. I have not yet decided to tackle the passenger side. It's a different process, involving unbolting the axle tube from the diff... I didn't hear noise, and I don't feel the same endplay. I'll wait to do that side.
