This gate kit from national hardware is attractive and modern looking. It is simple to install with decent instructions on the back of the pack. It uses relatively small phillips head screws that are perfect for most fences. It has a large handle that is secure and offers some grip as well. The hinges are sturdy and well made. The deadbolt offers decent security as well. Everything including the screws are powder coated black. It took roughly an hour to install. There were a few things that I would have liked to have seen. One is a second handle of some sort for the inside of the gate. Another is some sort of spring tension on the hinges. Finally, I would like to have seen slightly beefier screws for the hinges especially the part attached to a post. However, I do like that the gate stays open when being used for taking out the trash and recycling, etc. The price is ok for what you get. Because of the quality, design, and ease to install I am giving this 4 stars.

There is a reason why this gate kit is pricey … because it is built like a tank.Everything you get is extremely well made. The paint contains weatherguard to protect against the elements. You get all the hardware needed to mount everything.Overall, this is a very nice gate kit that should last a long time and I highly recommend it.

This gate hardware is nice and sturdy. It comes with all of the hardware needed to install so it is a complete set. The handle feels solid and grips well due to the texture. The hinges are also well made. According to the packaging each hinge has a workload of up to 48 lbs per hinge so with 2 hinges they would have a workload up to 96 lbs. My only issue with this set is with the latch/slide lock. I like that it is thicker and has a bulkier look but what I don’t like is that it is hollow, and they used plastic caps on the ends. Over time I see that as a major issue. I will say that, while I didn’t pry on them, it does appear that they did glue them in so that they don’t just fall out, but I think that with the changing temperatures and weather conditions they will either eventually fall out or crack and break. Granted, I feel that it will last a long time I just don’t think they will last as long as I had hoped at the price range. Overall, I think this is a nice set. For the price though I would not have expected more.

I got these for a project I'm going to be doing later this summer replacing a split rail fence around a pool with a more solid fence. I ordered two sets of gate hardware from National Hardware through the Amazon Vine program because our fence has two main gates and I want good hardware at the gates. I wasn't sure if these would work, or how well-built they would be, but I assumed from the price that they were fairly substantial. And with the Vine program, there's no cost for the item if you leave a review. So I wouldn't be out either way.I thought by the price that this set migh be well-built, and well built it is. The components are of commercial quality--the kind of latch, handle and hinges you would fine on the gate for a pool at a commercial location such as a hotel.If you don't need a child-proof latch on your gate or access from both sides, this is a fantastic set of hardware, It's thick metal, solid and heavy. It's so heavy and solid that for many home gates it's probably overkill. I'm still not sure I'm going to use this hardware. It may be overkill for my porject. But I unhestitatingly commend it to you if you have a serious gate you're looking to buy hardware for.

Love the easy pull handle and the latch for this set. I don't like the combo units that have handle and latch opener like a front door. They often get out of fit and don't work well. This had some serious hardware to hold a heavy six-foot wooden gate in place. The gate is broken down in my back yard and the city threatened me with fines. I've got it tied up with wires, but I need a replacement and some other fence work. This comes with all the hardware to attach, and it's weatherproofed as well. It's not cheap it's possible to buy something at a hardware store individually, but this is quality stuff so I'm not complaining. My nephew works as a handyman type with a lot of skills and does fence work frequently with Amish carpenters. I can definitely trust him to do a good job with this and give me the family discount. Recommended.

I purchased these for my new Garage Carriage Doors. They are sturdy, well made and just what I was looking for. Not too much bling which makes them the perfect fit for my style.

Everything from the hinges to the handle are made of heavy duty steel. The matte black finish seems like it should hold up. It has some sort of weather protected finish. Its a decent kit.

This set is very sturdy and high quality. It comes with all the pieces needed to install the gate. It comes with the hinges, the handle, a latch and all the necessary screws. It's a nice matte black
