They work, good leads for my dogs to go outside without me holding a leash. Both dogs are fairly good sized and powerful, and the hooks take their abuse with no signs of wear yet.

Bought it for a dog leash--I hate the basic snap swivel all dog leashes come with, and I love making my own cheap leashes using nylon utility fish tape (control of a dog is not about the expense of the leash). Unfortunately, this one is perfect except it is too heavy. Pulls on his choke chain and hangs down. I wish they had a slightly smaller size and lighter weight. Love the design, would be great for a lot of things, just not good for a dog leash.
