Wasn't sure when I ordered this that it would fit to replace the one already in place. Just short ofan identical match. I'm very happy with this item.

I had a handrail bracket that had broken, making the handrail less safe. This was the perfect replacement; it was easy to mount, self-aligning, and looked just like the old one it replaced.

I was repairing a broken stair rail bracket for a home build in 1998. This bracket looks identical to the broken one so it might have been the same brand used by the builder. The only difference I can tell is that this one seems just a tiny bit thicker, but that could just be my perception. Everything else is the same, even the hole positions on the bracket and the clip that you screw into the rail.It seems to work great and has definitely added improved stability over the older broken one. In my case it was pretty easy to install; I unscrewed the old bracket and the new one fit right into it's old spot. I was able to reuse the same screw holes for the new bracket but the clip for the stair rail didn't exactly match the holes from the previous clip so I had to put in new ones. No drill necessary though, the bracket comes with wood screws for the clip and they went in fine.Tools needed for installation:- Phillips head screwdriver- [optional] Second person to hold rail while you work

Be sure to pre-drill any holes in your hand rail, especially if it is hardwood. Also, do not use a power driver to drive the screws. If they are over tightened, the screws may snap. Screw the fasteners in by hand.

Nothing not to like about it. More substantial than the brackets on another railing in my house that have been up for 60 years. I recently had to replace one with an exact duplicate. This bracket is more substantial looking.

Pretty good, but didn't quite fit. We had an old one break, and they were Stanley, so we were hopeful that these would fit. They are okay, but they don't line up quite right. Was hoping it would be a sort of "standard fit" type piece. They're temporarily in place while we try to locate some that fit right, but it's not solid. If they were the right fit, they would get the full 5 stars.

Well, not too much to elaborate here. It's a bracket for a handrail. Ergo, a handrail bracket. The primary reason I purchased this online was mainly the fact that at Lowe's, they cast around $5.00. And I like to buy things a bit cheaper when I'm able to. So it turns out to be a pretty good deal even with shipping included. Below $1.50 overall per unit. Easy to install, it works!!!
