Size of silk thread
Each thread is about 109 yards long and weighs about 0.134 a piece. Made by traditional hand techniques, it is lighter and softer than other embroidered cotton threads, a silk thread can also be divided into two strands, up to 16 filaments, suitable for high-end hand embroidery applications.
Warm Tips
These threads can not be used on sewing machines. They can only be used for DIY or hand stitching. This is a very lightly twisted silk thread with texture to it. I do all sorts of needlework, and I feel this is better suited for something like embroidery or canvaswork where you may be looking to add a texture to your stitches. On the other hand, I don't feel that it is particularly suitable for something like cross stitch, where you are usually looking for a nice smooth finish. This thread is much more lightly twisted than a typical cross stitch silk thread.The thread feel very smooth and the colours do seem to be colourfast. They come twisted in a hank and will need to be added to a floss drop or bobbin.

I’m used to cotton embroidery floss and gave this silk kind a try. It wasn’t what I was expecting. The colors are as pictured which is a plus.It is not possible to easily separate out a strand to work with. The skeins easily come undone and tangle. The thread is shiny like silk. But it didn’t smell like silk often does and didn’t quite feel like 100 percent silk. If you have any roughness to your hands the silk will snag.I was able to double up strands to get something thicker to sew with but even then the floss tangled easily while sewing. If you’re used to working with standard cotton embroidery floss, this is not comparable in texture and is harder to work with. I won’t order this again.

Individually packaged silk embroidery threads in a beautiful ombre light pink to dark red progression. These threads are true to the listing colour. I’m excited about how pretty they are in person.The material is a nice soft silky texture, they’re not cotton like some embroidery thread. They feel very soft.

I wanted to complete a project with this silk floss before writing this review to ensure it was fair and accurate. I am very impressed at the care the seller takes in the packaging of each skein. The colors are vibrant and the quality is superb. I am on my 14th set of purchasing this floss, I will continue to purchase more colors.I found the best way to store the floss is to carefully unravel the skein, which is separated into 5 individual pieces. I gently align all 5 knots and snip through all pieces, I use acrylic floss drops and feed one end of the cut skein through and then braid the full skein, this ensures there is no tangling at all, when needed, I carefully at the floss drop top gently pull a strand of floss out, this won't disrupt the braided skein at all. Since I work intricate with colors, I again separate the one strand into 2, which allows me to blend the floss perfectly with all colors that I desire creating a very realistic embroidery. You won't be disappointed with this floss.The seller is very quick to respond with any questions asked and I am anxiously waiting the seller to open the full spectrum of their colors to be able to purchase them individually which will be wonderful for when I need replacement on colors that I need replenished without having to buy a full new color set.

These are gorgeous, soft, fine silk floss for hand embroidery. Please read the reviews that talk about how to wind this floss into a bobbin - you will need patience and some equipment. But the thread itself is high quality, with a beautiful shine and fantastic value. The fact that I got a gradient is amazing. I cannot recommend this enough for people who want to make beautiful embroidery.

This silk thread is really soft and shiny. The colors are bright and look beautiful on fabric. Each roll has a lot of thread, so it lasts a long time. It doesn’t tangle easily, and it’s smooth to work with. The thread feels strong but still gentle, which makes it perfect for embroidery projects. I used it to stitch flowers and leaves, and the finished piece looks really nice. The way the light catches the silk makes every color pop. It’s also easy to separate the strands if you need to use fewer. Everything came neatly packed, and all the colors matched what I saw online. This thread makes my work look extra special.

Impossible to crochet with - The quantity is ridiculously small for the price - Look more like a yarn for sewing - Highly to AVOID because it is a total waste of money !!!!! I would suggest Amazon to review the description in order to prevent to have more highly disappointed buyers.
