This telescope uses push-and-pull mechanism to focus distant objects. You need to Pull it out completely and slowly push the barrel inside, while looking through the telescope, till the desired object becomes clear. This nautical spyglass is made of brass. The telescope, when fully extended, is about 6" long. It comes with nautical look. The telescope will make a great pirate accessory. This is very well made, good looking. It’s for my time travel steampunk outfits . I’ll be adding a strap of leather on it so I can wear it on my belt. It works, I’ll use the nicely made wood box to store it in. And the little compass is perfect… it’s small, works, made well. I’ll be adding a leather strap on it as well to wear around my neck.

Bought this as a white elephant gift and people were fighting over it! Had to buy a second one for my nephew who really wanted it. Great little telescope that actually works...compass not so much. Box really looks great and it makes a fantastic gift!

Overall it’s very cool, very authentic spyglass, high quality. However, our end piece was welded on crooked so the glass fell into the telescope the first day. I thought my 4 year old did it so I super glued it back in place before realizing it was a defect so I felt it was too late to exchange it.

My daughter used a GC to buy herself this spyglass. It looks like one from her favorite tv show and seems great quality. She is delighted and takes it everywhere to show off.
