I bought this because I thought it may come in handy for one of my many DIY engineering projects. I eventually plan to try to laser cut gaskets out of this material but for now I've just been cutting it by hand and its been pretty easy to do.The material is really high quality and I can see it providing a really good sealing surface for a lot of different applications.Surprisingly the only negative thing I can say is its just a lot of material, outside of applications where you’re going to be using the whole roll you probably shouldn't buy this, 80" x 40" may not sound like much but its massive.

I never got this with the intention to use as a single roll application. The 1/8" neoprene rubber roll feels sturdy and durable. My uses include customizing some buffer layers on pavers for my 3D printer in concert with some vibration dampeners to isolate the noise of the printer during operation. The rubber also works as spacer material and gasket creation for some mechanical operations on my hobby room. This roll is big enough to have a separation layer for working under equipment for protecting flooring from petroleum products or other liquids installed in the equipment. I even cut a length into some food trays to catch drips from my resin printer on the workbench. Lots of uses available for this neoprene rubber roll.

This review is for the Ceefloor brand Neoprene Rubber 80” x 40” x 1/8” roll.If you haven’t used a product like this before, it is a dense hard rubber. It is heavy.I’ve purchased Neoprene sheets before. I use them as an insulator to cover my batteries when I am working on my DIY battery banks. I also use them to protect floors or counter tops when I am working with a heavy piece of gear with sharp edges. I’ve been known to bring my projects into the house when the weather isn’t favorable. Those heavy Neoprene sheets are have worked great to protect our new flooring.My sheet was delivered in a roll. This is consistent with past purchases. When you first open the box, it has a very strong chemical smell! You’ll want to air it out before working with it! My other sheets also stunk when I first got them. I instantly recognized the smell when I opened the box. This smell has mostly dissipated, but I can still smell it while I handle them.Other than the strong smell, the other thing to note is that the sheets can come with a strong curl.The only way I could get the curl out of my first Neoprene sheet was to roll it up in the opposite direction and let it sit like that for a few months. Of my prior 3 sheets, one of them had a very strong curl. It took over a year to get it to fully relax and lay flat.I ordered this large roll so I can cover my batteries for a project I am working on. I want to cut it to size. This will work perfect for my needs.On the bad side, I’ve already found a place where the rubber has formed a bubble. My prior three sheets did not have a defect like this. I’d give this five starts if it wasn’t for the defect.

I got this to use as a surface material for some of my wood workbenches. It makes for a nice feel and easily wipes clean with a damp rag. I find that small parts don't go flying off as readily as they do on a harder surface. I can imagine a lot of other uses for this material as well.

I'm using this big roll for cutting out gaskets and liners for my toolbox and some parts of my SUV's rear hatch.It will outgas so be ready for that (it is not virgin rubber) but aside from that, this big roll is gonna last me a couple of years!Heavy and durable, can be cut to shape and will not slip out on you.

I received a package that was quite heavy and long, and couldn't remember buying anything metal. I thought it was metal brackets or something similar. It turns out it was this roll of rubber. When I opened it, it did have a pretty strong odor, but I expect this and it didn't bother me. It dissipated after a day or so, and cannot think of how they could have prevented that. I use this for all sorts of things, from cutting pieces to set benchtop tools on to dampen vibration and keep them in place to mats to work on heavy objects. This is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. For what it is, I actually think the price is pretty fair and couldn't imagine getting this locally, at least not easily. Also, note that this is solid rubber, it's not foam or something that compresses much, but that's what I wanted.

My husband needed a nice waterproof floor protector for his new shed workshop. With all the weather we have been having, he didn’t want to track water and snow into the shed. This rubber mat was perfect. It spanned the entire entrance to his shed and provided a good place to take off his wet shoes and protect the plywood floor. It is very heavy ad durable and should last a long time. It is a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. It does have a heavy rubber smell when you get it, so you need to kind of air it out if you are using it in a living space, but the smell seemed to dissipate fairly quickly. It is tightly rolled when you get it, so you have to lay it out and get it to uncurl but again it is very heavy so that didn’t take too long. Overall, it is a nice mat and should last a long time.
