This unit was identified as a direct replacement for the pump on my Black Max pressure washer (BM80919A). The pump output (flow and pressure) are slightly higher than the original, and the manual indicates that the Honda GVC160 engine has sufficient power to attain the higher pressure and flow. My old unit was the original pump from 2012, rated at 2.3 gpm and 2700 psi. Replacement was straight-forward - the following steps took all of 15 minutes.1. Remove the three bolts and nuts holding the pump to the engine base.2. Separate the pump from the engine shaft. This was the hardest step of the entire process. I used a 3-foot long pry bar and a dead blow hammer to pry the pump away from the engine . The key remained in the engine output shaft keyway.3. Align the engine shaft key with the pump keyway and slide the pump onto the shaft. You will likely need to tap on the pump body to overcome the friction of the key.4. Rotate the pump to get the pump mounting holes to align with the holes in the deck and the engine base, and install the three bolts and nuts.

This pump was an exact fit for my Black Max pressure washer that has a Honda engine. It was very easy to install.

UPDATE!! (Purchased April 22, 2021. Died March 26, 2023) This pump just died on my Pressure Washer after 2 years of service. The pump ground itself into metal shavings and deposited shiny ball bearings on the driveway. This time, I bought a New Pressure Washer and I'm lowering my recommendation by 2 stars to match the 2 years of service I got out of it. Honda engine, however, its ready for a new pump.) Just received my new 3100 psi, 2.5 GPM pressure washer pump in only 4 days from order. It's replaced and upgrades the 2700 psi, 2.3 GPM pump that came with my Black Max Honda engined pressure washer. I take meticulous care of my tools, so, the pressure washer looks and runs good as new, though, it has been in service for almost 10 years. Hating to buy a new one, I decided to give this pump a try and break out the tools. You will need a 12mm socket and wrench. A can of WD40 or other solvent and hammer for frozen drive shaft. And, about a hour of your time. A good cigar is enjoyed, but, not required. Three bolts is all that holds this vertical mount pump to the engine. No bolts, hardware or shaft pins were included with the pump, but, none were needed. The only problem I encountered was a seized drive shaft after unbolting the pump from the Honda engine. Be patient here. Don't force it. After liberally applying some WD40 to the shaft and tapping it with a hammer, I got the pump rotating on the shaft. Some more WD40 and about half a cigar later,, the old pump slipped of the drive shaft. The locking pin still inserted in the shaft. {Don't lose it!)Next was the installation of the new pump which is a perfect match to the old pump with the exception of stronger performance. Hand turn the crankshaft so the pin side matches up with it's slot in the new pump's connector. Push the pump on and begin hand tightening the 3 bolts to suspend the pump back under the engine. Move between the three alternatingly until you have reattached the pump to the engine. You don't want to put too much pressure on either mounting arm and flex the drive shaft. Reattach your soap tube to the pump. Now, for $100 I have a 3100 psi pressure washer and hopefully another 8 years of pressure washing fun! After about 4 hours of use not one leak or issue. It does make the Honda work alitte harder, but, my driveway sparkles as compared to the neighbors' nasty stained concrete. Plus, pressure washing your drive, patio, and sidewalk while smoking a Monticristo #2 is far better therapy than a trip to the psychiatrist's office. Pressure washing,, meditation at its most productive!
