This thing is pretty neat. I always wanted to test out our filtered water, as the units can be pretty pricey. This water tester was really easy to use. Just followed the included instructions. I tested the tap water in 3 different cups (plastic, glass, and metal), once with cold water and another with warm water. I also re-tested against the filtered water that needed to be changed, and again after I changed the filter (both cold and warm as well). The filtered water did register about 60ppm lower than the tap. But the tap was also in safe range at 269. Regardless of the water results, I was testing to see if I would get consistent results -- which I did. The tester seems to be accurate as far as consistency. It is also easy to see the values (ppm, temp, etc) on the backlit screen. The unit comes with batteries and a hard plastic storage case. Left it out for the prongs to airdry before storing.I'm by no means a water engineer or anything, but not sure how accurate the ppm rating chart of the TDS is...I was kinda freaking out that our filtered tap water was showing red, but the value was 219ppm. It's a carbon and UV filter, but it's also supposed to allow come mineral content through. Apparently that is still quality filtered water, but the red light was making me feel like it was not safe to drink or something lol Although I read the UV light kills bacteria so it might not have much of an effect on the TDS, but still have an impact on the cleanliness of the water.

This really works! I wish it had the scale from good to bad on the side of the meter like some of the other ones do! I guess I need to but the upgraded one! I used it at work and now I won’t drink the water in the break room!

It works great. I'll use it all the time now, especially in restaurants. The price was low, as well.

Very easy to use (once you read the included instructions) and has become pretty handy for testing water in my large hydroponics system. I have another tester and they are both giving similar readings so I assume it's accurate.
