Tested backplate with a magnet and it sticks. This is a water pump for a vehicle and not for a boat that requires stainless steel.

Just installed the marine pump yesterday and the water pump pully is not lining up with the crank shaft pully.it is only off a little but worry it will throw the belt off. it seems the the part on the shaft that mounts to pullyneeded to be pressed on down 16th of a inch. should have went with a OEM water pump.
