This is the second time I've been talked into putting bilstein's on a heavy duty truck. And the second time after a few months I took them off. The shocks might be fine if you're always carrying a heavy load. But if you run light. It's like having a number 8 rebar welded in. These shocks are absolutely horrible. You can feel every single bump in the road. And when you're going fast the truck will bounce all over the place there is no give in the shocks. I put some Monroes on and my truck now drives like a dream. Bilstein shocks are horrible I don't know what the hype is for them

Good shocks. But don’t last long.

Great handling and easy install. You never realize how worn your old shock are until you get new ones. Can never go wrong with bilsteins!

2008 F250 4WD Crew Lariat. Replaced adjustable Rancho’s that were completely shot. Removed the front wheels to install the Front shocks. Installation requires use of a Hex Wrench to stop the top shaft from turning while tightening the nut. I found it easier to use vise grips to hold the Hex Wrench. It is possible to manually compress and seat the front shocks in the lower bracket, but it required several attempts. The rear shock installation is straight forward, just don’t let the shock get away from you when you cut the temporary strap compressing the shock. I did spray liquid wrench on the fittings the day before installation. Needed about 4.5 hours, several rest breaks and 2 Advil to complete the installation.

On my 2012, F-250, the rear shocks were simple to install. Keep the straps on until shock is in the shock bracket otherwise have strong muscles to compress it several times until placement at the lower end bracket and bolt is installed.Front shocks needed a floor jack to compress enough to fit into the lower bracket. This part of the installation took some effort.

2013 F250 4x4 6.2 gas. Bought the truck and after a few thousand miles realized it was very harsh on rough roads. It would knock the breath out of you so that it was hard to talk on the phone. Looked at all the choices and read many reviews, wanted the adjustable shocks but went for these Bilstein 4600 to save some cash. Truck had Motorcraft shocks with 45K miles. Upon removal I completely compressed the Motorcraft shocks and it took 90 seconds to fully extend. The Bilstein took 7 seconds to fully extend. Truck rides much more comfortable now , much less harsh on the bumps. It is still a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck but so much more comfortable.

Great shocks to replace worn out OEM shocks on my 2011 F250 4x4. Rear shocks were easiest to install, but the front struts were more difficult due to the need to compress them. I did a loose install of the top of the front strut and used a 4’ pry bar as a ramp and slid the bottom of the strut into place, compressing it as I pushed it up the pry bar.As the ride was still extremely rough on brick roads, I reduced the tire pressure by 5 lbs and now it’s a nice daily ride when not carrying a load.

These shocks provide a noticeable improvement in ride and stability on my 2015 F350 KR 4x4. Installation is straight forward with average mechanical skills and tools. The only discrepancy in the product description is that it stated these shocks would fit model years 2005 - 2013 when, I believe, Ford had the same suspension setup through 2016. Check Bilstein’s website product finder for the right shocks for your vehicle, then head over to Amazon to buy them. That way you will know what shocks to get and you will also know what they look like. A different seller had the right model number for my shocks listed with an incorrect picture and they sent me the shocks that were pictured which had a completely different model number that were actually for an older Chevy Trailblazer. That said, these Bilstein heavy duty shocks are a great way to improve the ride and handling of your truck whether loaded or unloaded. The shocks arrived a day or two before the promised delivery date and I took off the totally worn out OE shocks (48,000 miles on them), installed the Bilstein’s, and immediately enjoyed the benefits of improved ride and handling.
