Worked, but the faceplate of the drive did not correctly fit an Inspiron 1545.First off, it is not flush with the laptop case. Once installed there is a notable gap between the drive and surrounding case.Secondly, and worse, is that it exposes a decent sized hole on the bottom which dust and hair WILL get into.Here is a picture of the faceplate of the Inspiron 1545's drive. Notice the shape and how one side is bigger than the other:http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/dIUAAOxycD9TQY8N/$_35.JPGTried to swap the faceplates but, of course, they are not the same size. Drive worked fine (though I didn't try to burn anything), but will not be using... Disappointed as its for a customer and this is more work for me to do.

Work great. Fast shipper. Would recommend to others. Great product and does what stated. If you need a drive for your dell, this one is a good buy.

The product was what I was expecting everything reach on time and I had no problems at all, but I did not receive all that I was promised, I did not receive me free KEY CHAIN ....

Wow! I fixed my own computer. Not been able to use this drive for about 6 mo. Thought I had to buy a new computer then a friend suggested I try Amazon and she told me everything I needed to fix it. It was so much cheaper on Amazon than I would have had to pay if I had gotten it at Dell. Thank you so much!
