Hadn't used a spatula like this before, wanted to try one that didn't have slots after our old spatula broke.-Another reviewer stated that the wood wasn't riveted in place well, it also seemed a little loose when we got ours, but the wood was very dry. After rubbing some cutting board oil on it, the wood swelled a bit and it is now fixed firmly in place (don't put your wood utensils in the dishwasher...I avoid soap on the handle when hand washing).-I primarily cook in a 14" cast iron skillet, compared to the previous spatula this is a little unwieldy. Since the bend is further back on the blade it makes flipping things a little harder since the edge of the pan gets in the way; due to the width of the blade, I can't cook as many eggs in the skillet as I used to since I can't fit the spatula in there as well. On a large griddle those probably aren't issues.-The edge of the sharpened side bent a little, I'll have to fix it sometime with a file but haven't been bothered to yet.

Bought this a couple of years ago and have been using it on my grill ever since. I was commenting to my wife today that this Spatula has been awesome, so I thought I'd write something here saying so, lol.Long enough to keep you away from flames, strong enough to flip 3 burgers at once. Mine has been totally solid. It's been a workhorse for 2 years on my grill and if anything ever happened to it, I'd buy another one immediately.There. :)- SF

As you can see by the photo, I LOVE to Smoke and GRILL!! I Bought this Spatula knowing that it would be used A LOT!! Its Outstanding when it comes to getting anything up off the grill (YES, EVEN AN 18lb Brisket!!) Now most people wouldn't use a spatula to do something like that but I did in order to see if its as strong as it was reported to be. IT IS!!! And its a SNAP to clean as its GREAT STAINLESS STEEL!! Not Cheap Chinese Junk!!

A very good value for the price, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Overall, it works well and is as advertised. That said, I have 2 primary complaints:1. The rivets were not well seated into the wood. It's not about to fall apart or anything, but in my opinion it's evidence of mediocre manufacturing processes. I'm confident it will hold up for quite a while - it's just not high quality cookware.2. The metal is of mediocre quality. It bends with a modicum of force and does not spring back into shape. It's also a bit thicker than some of the higher-grade spatulas I've used (I used to work as a cook in a restaurant). I assume it's thicker because of the lower quality of metal (if it were thinner, I think it would bend during use).In conclusion, this is an inexpensive item, but it is worth the price. For what it's worth, I also bought another, similar spatula around the same price, and it suffers from the same issues. I would not be surprised if they were made at the same factory.

It's a bit more heavy duty and solid that I thought it would be. It's almost too thick.I used to be a short-order cook and spent many a shift slinging hash browns, eggs, omlettes, bacon, and pancakes on grill spatulas like this. This one is a bit wider than I would like but isn't bad. It's even thicker than the grill spatulas I remember. I have used it on eggs on my cast iron double-burner griddle and works well without breaking them. But you better have a fairly large sized griddle or grill with a flat area to use a spatula this big. It's not going to work in a fry pan.I'm impressed with how well the wood handle has held up to being run through the dishwasher. I put some oil on it from time to time. I sort of wish it had a plastic handle instead. But on the whole this is an amazing spatula for this price.

I actually bought this for a friend for Christmas, and don't tell her, but I tried it out before I wrapped it. She was looking for a long bladed flat spatula to attempt making omelets like we had in Mexico, that were paper thin and folded around the fillings like a burrito. This definitely has the feel of a professional tool, good weight and nicely balanced. The long blade allows turning things like these omelets, fish, or anything that longer or more delicate than what your normal spatulas can handle. I guess it would be nice on the barbeque grill, but it's also great inside as well. It feels well made and is comfortable for cooking.
