Packing and unpacking your straw hat during your travels can sometimes change its shape. Follow these simple steps to get your hat back to its best:
Brim Flattening
- Rest and Relax: Let the hat rest on a flat surface for a few hours.
- Add Weight: Place books on top, with a towel or cloth in between.
Overall Reshape with Steaming
- Be Gentle: Use low steam with a towel or cloth barrier.
- Reshape: After steaming, reshape with hands and let it rest on a flat surface with weight if needed. Reshape the crown by applying steam and support with a cloth inside while it dries.
Important Tip
- Avoid Water: Do not saturate the hat with water to prevent damage

My wife ordered this (the first one) expedited shipping for Father’s Day. Three weeks later it showed up and the package was damaged and so was the hat. I did a return with new product and two weeks later the second one showed up damaged. The hat itself seems nice and the look is great but this needs to be a buy in person item because the packaging they are using can’t stand up to The United States Postal Service.

With this hat being advertised as synthetic straw, my assumption was that it would have some of the rigidity of a natural straw hat but with a little more durability. While it is certainly more durable, there is almost no rigidity at all. I had to try ironing it when I got it because it had been folded up to fit in the shipping box but bending it at all leaves huge permanent creases in the material. Even after that it still fits wonky. The brim itself is particularly thin and prone to warping. Even the slightest breeze sends it flying up or down into your face. Almost worthless as a functional hat.

Compared to a natural straw hat. This synthetic straw is much more durable. Working outside every day. This hat is a necessity.

It was shoved into a box to small and bent the brim of the hat I could not get it to straighten out the shipping took awhile just overall was not satisfied with the hat also was just not as good as I expected quality wise it was really flimsy and loose

This hat arrived so squished and mishapen. We tried EVERYTHING to straight out the brim but to no avail. It's a total loss. We are returning. I hope they don't all arrive like this but according to other reviews, it seems to be common.

There are no dislikes, fine hat, well made, fit's well. I've read comments regarding the packaging bending up the hat - and was a bit concerned about that, but mine arrived in great condition and not bent up at all. I will say that the hat size is one size fits all and it fits me perfectly but, if you have a big head, this may not be for you (I don't know my actual hat size).

Both my son in law and I are patriotic. I purchased this for him as a replacement for a similar hat that he lost. It was important to me that manufacturer logos did not take away from the look of the flag on the front and this hat is the best in this regard. The flag on the front is a touch cartoonish but my son in law loves the hat. It did arrive just a touch beat up from USPS. Delivery was slow and tracking is poor, this is a USPS problem that I experience with every package shipped through that carrier. I was able to tune the hat to remove a heavy majority of the minor creases. I would order again despite USPS.

Purchased because I wear wicker hats while boating and they never faired well after getting wet. This one holds up well in water but looses its shape if not dried flat. Wish it had more support to help maintain a flat brim all the way around.
