NICHE CV Axle Boot Kit Information

What is a CV Boot?

  • CV boots or drive axle boots are responsible for keeping the joints lubricated and preventing dirt and water from getting in

Why Replace?

  • When left unattended, it’s only a matter of time before the joint fails from lack of lubrication or corrosion. When that happens, the whole axle may need to be replaced

How Often?

  • These parts should be inspected on your vehicle ONCE A YEAR or more often on high-mileage vehicles or severe off-road use or rough conditions

Be sure to buy spare clamps. One of the new clamps ripped apart during installation and I had to use the old clamp. New clamps are thin stainless and I had the band too tight so it broke when bending it over to lock it. I learned not to crank it up so tight on the second unit.

Got into my repair and discovered there was no grease in the box and there was only one snap ring and it wasn’t the right size. I had to buy grease and use the old snap ring. Not happy!
