Makes a great handle for the smoke vent on a Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grill.I have not tried to use it as a file handle.

The handle is excellent for small files. I used it on a triangle file for sharpening a saw, and it was perfect. It has a snug fit, the handle is not too big to work with, and a smooth finish. I only have one concern, and that is the metal sleeve at the top of it. The metal part does not seem as firmly secured to the wood as I would like. I have used it multiple times so far with no issue, but if you are rough on tools, I would pay attention to that. Also, it works best using only one file. The inside is just wood, so the file is wedged into it. For a permanent handle, this is a great option. I might would consider another option if you want to swap files often, but using only one this is a comfortable and easy handle at a great price.

This is a size A. Designed for smaller files and such. So I knew about the size and that is not the issue. The picture shows what appears to be Beachwood. The contour is also double curved which is what I prefer. What I received, maybe some type of hardwood, possibly even just Poplar! Also it is not the same double curved contour. Oval shaped , the typical Nicholson rasp handles, which I would not have bought. I bought six of them. They are cheap, but not a deal. I give them one star for an inaccurate description and a rather mediocre quality. Not even worth sending back. Do not recommend

I wanted this for a 7/32” chain saw file. It fits the tang just right. I had a couple of plastic ones but you can’t feel the file cut as well as you can with wood handles. Get these. They are close to free. Like 3 bucks. File your chain after you cut and you’ll be ready for the next time. No better feeling than cutting with a sharp chain. Sigh.
