From the Manufacturer

The Nikon +3.0 Correction Eyepiece is an optional Nikon eyepiece diopter that allows you to optimize your SLR viewfinder's sharpness in conjunction with your individual eyesight. Nikon SLR cameras (without built-in adjustable eyepiece correction) have a base diopter value of minus one. Minus one is considered the optimum starting point for the majority of SLR users with normal vision. The combination of the camera's viewfinder components and a clear (standard) eyepiece form a virtual image of a subject on the camera's focusing screen that is the approximate equivalent of a viewing distance of one meter.

Each Nikon eyepiece diopter incorporates a numerical value, represented by a minus value (nearsighted) or a plus value (farsighted) number, enabling you to select the appropriate diopter for your vision and your camera model.

The eyepiece's diopter value is, when combined with the viewfinder's minus one value, the end-result value. No combination of the camera's base value of minus one and a given accessory diopter's value is required to arrive at the final desired value. In other words, if you require a diopter of plus 3, simply add a plus 3 diopter to your camera.

To determine which Nikon diopter value is best suited for you, visit your ophthalmologist, optometrist or dispensing optician. Ask them to determine your diopter from (your corrective prescription) when viewing an object at distance of approximately one meter. Base your selection on this diopter value.

This eyepiece is compatible with the Nikon D50, D70, D100, N50, N60, N65, N70, N80, N6006, Pronea, and FM10 cameras.

It slid on there perfectly, but it was just not the right lens correction that I needed. I tried a few others from NIkon, but did not find what I needed.

The Lens is fine but it does not fit easily. needed filing the slots or else it distorts when forced on. Not what one expects for a Nikon accessory

Works good but it takes a lot of force to get the eyecup to clip to it. I was afraid I was going to fracture the glass. If I ever have to do this again I would consider using a small amount of vaseline to lube the surfaces. Maybe an aftermarket eyecup would fit better.

Great for aging eyes, the viewfinder is clear without wearing glasses!

Using the Viewfinder wearing progressive lenses a real pain (hard to tell if the camera was soft or it was me) and I could not read info shown in bottom of VF with +3 lens everything is legible and have range to adjust NikonD5200 VF for my needs. Camera adjusts for +/-2. I needed +4. This gives me +1 to +5. range

I have been wearing glasses forever and have always had issues when using my 35mm camera. I did not know these eyepieces existed. I learned of the product in a camera book on my equipment. Wow what a difference it makes. I am now able to use my camera without my glasses. I wish I had discovered this 10 years ago.
